It is lie every other car restoration show. I mainly tuned in for Rob "rabbit" Pitts who is well know in the Vin Wiki community and his storytelling is next level.
I watch quite a bit of VINWIKI on YouTube and NGL I prefer their 10-18 minute videos as not only do they show no work, but they have great storytellers who immerse you enough you think you're seeing it.
I think another thing that ruins this for me is Scooter, he is annoying. Pulling the fire suppression system was the stupidest thing anyone has ever done... but this is just as scripted as Rust To Riches, Rust Valley Restorers (Which TBH, is a way better show)
I feel like Rabbit is slumming it here. He is a shrewd negotiator and if you have watched his videos on YouTube you would know he never would have made 1/2 of those deals.
Sadly Rabbit is no longer with us, during filming he learned he had stomach cancer and passed away in August 2024. His funeral was broadcast live on Youtube and contain many social media personalities but also royalty of racing. Ed Bolean of Vin Wiki fame gave the Eulogy for Rabbit and the car community not only lost a great storyteller but also a good friend.
To see this is one of the last things he ever did is heart breaking, and while they had some great projects the antics were boring and repetitive.
Everyone is a copycat of Rust to Riches, the mechanic especially as she is a poor copycat of CONSTANCE NUNEZ.
I will probably tune in for E1S2 as it is supposed to be geared as a memorial to Rabbit.
