Akshay Kumar & Saif Ali Khan’s Next With Priyadarshan Is Named Haiwaan!(Photo Credit –Instagram)
The official title for Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s highly anticipated reunion and collaboration with acclaimed director Priyadarshan has been revealed! The upcoming edge-of-the-seat thriller has been named Haiwaan, which translates to ‘Beast’ in English. The movie has already generated buzz among fans.
Why Was The Title Haiwaan Selected?
According to a source, the team behind the film felt the title Haiwaan “describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it as an edge-of-the-seat thriller.” The source also mentioned that several other titles were considered, “but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play.”
Though the thriller film is yet to be released, the title surely indicates that Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are gearing up to create a box-office hurricane under Priyadarshan’s directorial vision.

Kunal Kapoor said, “I am an Indian actor shooting films in different Indian industries. I don’t view cinema through the lens of North, South, East, or West. With roughly 30 million views in its first week of release, Netflix's brutal action film Havoc, starring Tom Hardy, topped the English-language top 10 list. The streamer's non-English list, on the other hand, was topped for the second time by the Dutch thriller iHostage. However, a couple of new releases claimed the second and third spots on the global top 10 list. At number three was the poorly reviewed Indian heist movie Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, but the number two spot was claimed by the much better-received Japanese thriller Bullet Train Explosion.
The movie scored a total of 12.3 million views in its first week on Netflix. It found spots inside the top 10 in as many as 80 countries, and was the number one movie of the week in four countries, including Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Actor Kunal Kapoor, talks with Subhash K Jha, about his latest project Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, including delving into his role, what it was like working with Saif Ali Khan and what is coming up next!
Long time no see, Kunal; where have you been hiding your talented self? The last I saw you was in Ankahee Kahaniyan, why are you so picky?
Hiding? I’ve been standing in plain sight; it’s just that the spotlight hasn’t been on me. People assume that because you’re not seen, you’re not connected to the industry. But I always am. Constantly working on getting better at what I do. At the same time, I’ve got a writers’ room. We are creating scripts, some that I want to act in, some produce. The idea was that if you can’t find the scripts you have your heart in,...

From its first frames, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins announces itself as an East-meets-West heist thriller, merging Bollywood’s flair for spectacle with the disciplined tempo of global caper films. Saif Ali Khan embodies Rehan Roy, a charismatic burglar who’s lived abroad under a cloud of family disgrace. When crime lord Rajan Aulakh (Jaideep Ahlawat) threatens Rehan’s kin to secure his expertise, the stage is set for a contest of wit, loyalty and high-stakes robbery.
The film’s energy hinges on the tension between Rehan and Vikram Patel (Kunal Kapoor), an upright investigator whose respect for his quarry hints at comradeship beneath rivalry. Nikita Dutta appears as Farah, Rajan’s spouse, whose shifting devotion becomes a key fault line in the plot. Striking cinematography —notably a sequence where Rehan scales a museum wall— a score that pulses with orchestral underscores, and crisp editing unite to sustain forward momentum.

Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins has two directors. Neither seem to be around when they are needed the most. The plot seems to be floating on auto-pilot. With a script that seems to be written on a piece of toilet paper, this is possibly Netflix’s worst original motion picture of all times. We can’t tell what’s around the corner, though. There is a promise for a sequel at the end of this film, a promise I hope would be nipped in the bud.
As we can see, heist makes waste. Jewel Thief proves it. It is shocking to believe that something so shoddily written could have gotten past Netflix’s checkpost. What were the approvers thinking? What were the actors thinking? What were Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat thinking when they decided to be part of this bilge binge?

Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati’s “Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins” is one of the most insufferable films to emerge in recent times. There are bad films, and then there’s something like this, which throws you into existential angst. Has Hindi cinema sunk this low that such capable actors have to do such films — joyless and overtly manufactured and deathly silly-to continue their careers. This film is one of those that everyone involved would likely distance themselves from just a few years down the line. Other than a great offer of money, no other reason justifies anyone choosing to star in this film, especially Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Bollywood used to make fun crime movies. This is the country of “Don,” of “Bunty Aur Babli” of not one but three “Dhoom” movies. Heck, Netflix’s recent “Dhoom Dhaam” (unrelated to the aforementioned franchise) threw its hat in the ring to respectable results. And while those other examples may be from a bygone era of joyful abandon, the current moment leaves a lot to be desired.
In its defense, Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal’s “Jewel Thief” does not purport to be any kind of caper, but the self-serious wannabe action drama in its place leaves much to be desired. One can’t fault producer Siddharth Anand for committing to more of the same after the success of projects like “Pathaan,” “War,” and “Tiger” — but those were theatrical releases, unlike this one, and did not star Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat.

First of all, thank god it is not another Bollywood trailer that is super lengthy and gives out a little too much. The 2-minute and 13-second long trailer begins with a menacing look of Jaideep Ahlawat, who’s after Africa’s most precious diamond, Red Sun, worth 500 crores. He seeks the help of a ‘don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi’ types thief, played by Saif Ali Khan. But, of course, there are twists and tales – romance, betrayal, action, and a lot more!

Joan tells the tale of Joan Hannington, a woman who broke free from an oppressive past and made her own fortune through audacious heists in 1980s London. Turner steps into the shoes of this resilient character, but how well does she capture Hannington’s spirit of adventure and defiance?
Set amongst the flashy excess of Thatcher-era Britain, the series explores Hannington’s journey from battered housewife to cunning “godmother” of the criminal underworld. We join her at a low point, fleeing her abusive partner with only her young daughter in tow. With few options and fewer allies, Hannington fights to carve her own path.
