But she missed those signs while filming. The grueling hours that go into making television made her symptoms look like routine exhaustion — at first.

Speaking on the Wednesday, December 11 edition of the MeSsy podcast, Christina Applegate told co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler and guest Liz Feldman about how her fall on the set of the latter’s Dead To Me should have been a wakeup call.

“I remember falling that day,” the actress said, recalling it happening as she was filming a running sequence in a field.

Christina Applegate has revealed how she overlooked an early symptom of multiple sclerosis (Ms) while filming her Netflix series Dead to Me. Speaking on the latest episode of her MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has Ms, Applegate explained how she fell over while filming a running sequence in a field. She didn’t realize it at the time, but this was an early sign of her Ms. “Hi, first sign of Ms!” Applegate said of the fall. “So, not to bring everybody down, but there it was.” The Emmy-winning actress revealed her Ms diagnosis in August of 2021 and has since retired from acting. She and The Sopranos alum Sigler share their health stories on their MeSsy podcast. Dead to Me creator and executive producer Liz Feldman was a guest on the latest episode of the podcast and recalled times when Applegate would lose her balance on set.

More than five years later, Christina Applegate is recalling how her struggle with multiple sclerosis (Ms) began.

The 4x Golden Globe nominee unknowingly experienced one of her first symptoms of Ms while filming the pilot for her Netflix dark comedy-drama Dead to Me, which ran for three seasons on the streamer from 2019 to 2022.

“I remember falling that day. Hi, first sign of Ms!” she said to the show’s creator Liz Feldman on Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s MeSsy podcast, recounting a scene that featured her character Jen running across a field.

Feldman noted, “I remember you losing your balance a couple of times but it was very hard to figure out. I remember one time it was like really late at night, we’d been shooting probably 14 or 15 hours, it seemed completely reasonable that anybody would be collapsing.”

Waters released his annual list of the best films of the year, as published by Vulture, and bestowed the number six slot to Todd Phillips’ polarizing sequel.

Ms is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, resulting in a wide range of symptoms, such as issues with balance, mobility and vision.

In an episode of Applegate’s MesSy podcast, co-hosted by Jaimie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate detailed the constant pain and discomfort she experienced due to the condition.

On the latest episode of her MeSsy podcast, Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler opened up to listeners about her son’s recovery from a life-threatening autoimmune condition.

Sigler first revealed her son’s diagnosis on August 6 in an Instagram post in which she shared that what at first was suspected to be a “normal virus” had transitioned into “a nightmare.”

Her son, Beau, 11, was hospitalized for over a month as he suffered from a condition that causes inflammation in the brain and spinal cord, labeled acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (Adem).

Adem is a “rare kind of inflammation that affects the brain and spinal cord, usually in children. It damages the coating that protects nerve fibers, called myelin,” according to WebMD. While symptoms may be severe, they can be treated.”
