The documentary is very informative and the investigative journalist has done a good job digging in the right direction. However, no directions were provided as to who the real culprit is. A much hyped even this was, the outcome seemed like very lacklustre and ignorant by the authority, the private investigating team and the family.
If you watch any investigative show from the USA, even a careless investigation episode would have a better outcome than this case. The investigation details seems like a joke. From the details of the case, it further seemed like some important people in the case and/or some of the authorities may be involved or informed in these murders and tried to cover up.
Regardless, this was a sad event. Shermans should have installed proper security in their property. Since this is a relatively recent event, many homes and street cameras in the neighbourhood could have helped the case to solve.
And lastly, this show could have easily be shown in 2 episodes. Not sure why it was dragged to 4 episodes.

A 4 part series about a true murder investigation that has not been solved.. review gets 1 star for the length (3-4hours) for an unsolved murder.. that could of been summed up in an 1 hour show. Don't waste your time watching this if you need closure when watching a mystery... if you love a good cliff hanger that takes 3-4 hours to watch and feel like you just wasted your time on a pointless show then this is the show for you. It is a tragedy what happen to this couple just the amount of time the producers took to share the story was WAAAAYYYYYYYYY TOOOOOOOOO LONG for no answers as to who done it.

Nothing but a parasitic exercise in narcissism by the "journalist" who is trying to sell.his book about the crime. It's endless. It was just red herring after red herring -- nothing proven, only conjecture. Ultimately this almost acts as an advertisement for the Toronto Star. It's obvious the tragic reporter has no life, no other stories, and is only using this opportunity to glom onto a family's tragedy for his own aggrandizement. This ultimately is exactly why the media is so despised, and Mr. Donovan has earned every bit of scorn and derision that he will surely have gotten for this complete and utter NOTHING BURGER. A true insult, and an absolute waste of 4 hours of my time. 20/20 would have told it a hundred times better in 90 minutes.
