Only few gems like Raj B Shetty, Hemanth Rao and Rakshit shetty have got real guts to make a movie on this subject, even when the expectations of audience is stooping to new low every day.
Honestly speaking i dont remember having watched a movie in at least a decade that has used Basavanna's vaachana as lyrics for one of the movie songs. That itself should speak a lot about the quality of the movie.
Raj is an excellent story teller. He never acts, he just be himself and it shows. Not only him, a lot of other actors a dead natural. You cant even tell who is acting or who is just living their actual life. Such is the brilliance of this movie.
The scene where Raj explains the existence of Nandi battalu plant is top notch.
The idea of seeing others a human being, treating them as human being without their identity is somewhat fascinating to watch and it is essentially portrayed by Raj.
Only issue i had that i had to ask my wife is the movie really over twice just to confirm. Why such short length? I wish it never ended.
One more scene which i didnt like was the one with Meenu saaru. Even a fish is another being and it has right to exist, same thing is explained by Basvanna vachana but looks like shetty people find it hard to make a movie without referring sea food or animal cruelty.

Watched #SwathiMutthinaMaleHaniye in theatre first and now on prime mainly for Ramya as it's her first movie as a producer .But personally I got connected to this movie in so many ways I can't explain. Great work by Raj B Shetty ,Siri Ravikumar and the whole team. This movie will stay with me for long ! Thank you for giving this ! We all want to be Nandi Battlu flower after watching this. Swathi Muttina Male Haniye is a fabulous movie that touches every corner of your heart. Don't miss this gem and feel the emotions like never before. Music, BGM , cinematography, camera work is top notch and takes you to a different world. It's love that you experience with every character in the movie and not just with the lead characters. Embrace it and enjoy experiencing the depth of your emotions. It's gonna be a sure shot award winner for multiple categories :) loved it !
Raj B Shetty, hope you are happy for instilling your beautiful ideology or philosophy on life, humans, love into a movie. When a poet or a philosopher makes a movie, it becomes like Swathi Muthina Male Haniye.
There are issues with the film, like it is slow moving at places where it was unnecessary. I like the essence of innocence in the face of Prerana's mother, is she like that naturally or is it acting? I don't know but her character was beautiful.
Women are sensitive, how much ever the world or the new age feminazism screams that we are tough, we are soft like a flower. The character Prerana represented this reality very beautifully, very naturally. I loved it, even though I know this movie doesn't deserve a complete 10 on 10 rating, I still give a 10 for the efforts. To the effort of making a movie in an Era of adrenaline pumping movies. Maybe he knew this film won't find success in the cruel, shrewd market but he still made it, to inspire some people that understands the essence in the movie. Thanks for this one.

It was beautifully captured and mature written story. The way prerana mom presented her role..was good..she came just 5 to 10 min but her acting
Special mention to thatha Venkat rao
The way prerana character handle some situation is so mature.
Raj just wow.
Thanks Ramya for giving this kind of movie.

Once in a while such heart touching, well narrated movie is done, Raj B Shetty has done a great job in direction, kept it simple & straight forward. Movie starts with a good background of Prerana's daily chores at home & her job as counsellor, how its taking a toll on her is shown pretty well.
Short scenes between Prerana & husband of the sick wife touches on helplessness of senior citizens / nuclear family situation in India, also the dialogue between Prerana & her mother talking about she liking Aniket (Raj B Shetty) is written well.. and it goes something like this:
'... as a mother hearing from a married daughter that you like another person, is not a good thing, but as women I understand your feelings'
Kudos to Ramya for producing this, I think Siri Ravikumar (as Prerana) has done well, and she suits the role well & done better than having Ramya in that role.
