Kudos to DBS Films! They did a great job building suspense and I really enjoyed Nelson's character! The whole time I was watching I couldn't help but wonder "so what's the truth?" There's something about that forest that turns people crazy.. perhaps it's the unimaginable grief that they experience (because I started to truly believed that they were as unhinged as the character..) Great acting and screenwriting overall. I think the storyline or script could have used more drama or world building to really draw in the audience and captivate us with the array of unsolved abductions. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this indie horror film.
Have you seen Blair Witch Project? This is the knock off version of that, and everything that gives found footage a bad name. It adds absolutely nothing creative, has bad acting, and shaky cam all over the place. So bad you barely see anything.
The opening scene was creepy, and neat. But that is the highlight of the entire film, and it only goes down hill from there. They don't even try and give back story to the witch, or how she might have got there.
Just she makes people go missing in the woods. Like they try and frame it as a documentary. They could have pretended to do research into the legend more. But all round the film is dull.

I'll give it a couple of stars because the acting wasn't the worst (but not great) and the filming wasn't the worst (but not great). The story moved extremely slowly. It seemed like they really had to work hard to stretch it out to make it a movie rather than a short film. Even at 80 minutes there were multiple scenes that could have been eliminated and not affected the story line one bit. There was nothing original in the whole film.
I also find it interesting that all the rave reviews were written in about a one week span. You definitely have to have a vested interest to consider this a great movie.

I liked the concept and the storyline of this film a lot, the characters were good and the suspense building was done well, I also think the soundtrack was really well matched to the mood. It starts off by jumping immediately into the story which I love and then dives into unraveling the mystery of what happened. I think the characters were played really well and when the fourth wall breaks occurred they felt appropriately placed to give off the vibe of actual vloggers / YouTubers. I think overall they succeed in delivering what you would expect from a found footage indie horror film, some suspense, good jump scares and of course that one character that you can't figure out if he's a good guy, a bad guy or just flat out insane!
The acting is terrible and the storyline is taken right from The Blair Witch, including the final girl filming herself and apologizing to her parents and the stick figures hanging from trees. The characters are boring and give you no reason to care about their survival. What little effects there are aren't terrible, but they're not good either. I was hoping for a low-budget found footage film, but this one really scraped the bottom of the barrel. There isn't a single good actor in the entire film, and the cinematography is so cheesy and gives every jump scare away. Overall, it's unoriginal and not worth watching.
