'Bagha Jatin' is based on Jatindranath Mukherjee's life. Basically it is a Biographical History film. Except for the motion of the film, nice to see the rest.
This film directed by Arun Roy. As always his direction is good this time too. Some scenes under his direction are very beautifully described in this movie. Written by Sounava Bose. Some special dialogues written by him made the film beautiful. The Cinematographer Gopi Bhagat's cinematography should be mentioned separately which is really good.
Nilayan Chatterjee is the Music Director of this film. The songs of this film are good . But we had to pay attention separately about the Background Score which is sometimes very slow. So some moments you feel bored.
Talking about performances, Dev (Bagha Jatin) is outstanding in this cinema. His acting is very noticeable and mind blowing. The audience can feel Jatindranath Mukherjee through the Dev. Carl A Harte (Charles Tegart), Sreeja Dutta (Jatindranath's Wife), Samiul Alam (Khudiram Bose), Sudipta Chakraborty (Binodbala) portrayed their characters very well. Other supporting casts are also good.

"Bagha Jatin," directed by Arun Roy, comprises an ensemble cast. Dev plays the titular role, while debutant Sreeja Dutta plays the role of Indubala, and Sudipta Chakraborty plays the role of Binodbala
. The film strikes a perfect balance between class and mass moments. The action sequences are well choreographed, and despite subpar VFX (considering the film's budget is only 5 crore), it's relatively negligible. The screenplay of the first half is very engaging, but the second half feels rushed. The music and background score by Nilayan Chatterjee are top-notch, and Gopi Bhagat's cinematography is an absolute delight for the eyes. The film introduces many lesser-known or completely unknown historical characters. If you're a history enthusiast, you'll remain engaged throughout the film. Returning to the acting department, Dev delivers his career-best performance without a doubt. Sudipta Chakraborty is an ace actor, with her subtle contributions enriching the film. Debutant Sreeja is excellent in her limited screen time. Other important characters are portrayed by numerous stage and debutant actors who gave their heart and soul to their roles. However, there are some factual errors in the film, and the narration could have been much better. The scene with the tiger falls flat, which could have been the film's highlight. The high points of the film were poorly executed. Overall, it's a brave attempt that deserves box office success. I recommend going to your nearest theater to watch it; you won't be disappointed.
Bagha jatin is best patriotic flim in bengali dev as a jatindranath mukherjee character perfectly matched.. and tiger scene are out standing.. and also background music. All song best... and every scene is goosebumps.... and buribalam war goosebumps.... and when dev said vande Mataram different feelings every indian.. and villain charecter is good.. and all character well .... this is a must watch movie of every bengali .. dev every character perfectly matched.. he is trying to fresh content every movie.... as a bengali iam proud after watching this movie.... Arun roy is underrated director...
It's really a well made movie, atleast better than ganpath, yaariya 2 . So, it will be a better option I guess . Dev really have done a good job . Director Arun Roy well researched and the music of Nilanjan sir is very good . Vfx and Cgi is poor but you can feel the story what the movie want to show . I was curious about the tiger fight scene but that scene had poor vfx actually it was not Dev's fault, it was director's fault . Dev's disguise looks was so amazing . Sometime for the flat screenplay movie become boring but the climax scene made me goosebumps . In the end when the song 'Asbo phire' played in theater I got emotional . It is a family friendly must watch movie.

Bagha Jatin is a perfect blend of mass and class. Dev delivers emotional depth and showcases his action skills, especially in battles against the British and a tiger. He brings that mass superstar charm and screen presence that we haven't seen from him in years. The film incorporates various massy elements where he truly shines. Dev brings Jatindranath Mukherjee to life, and this may be his best entry scene since 'Challenge.'
The music and background score are top-notch which creates a big impact. The rest of the cast complements Dev quite well. Arun Roy, once again, proves himself as the go-to director for historical biopics. The story covers ideology, politics, and a formidable villain. His vision and scale are reflected in every frame and action. Bagha Jatin is a cinematic gem in the Bengali film industry that truly shines on the big screen.
In today's day and age of family dramas and detective films in Bengal, movies with such vision deserve appreciation. Dev's maturity and commitment to the role, both as an actor and producer, are evident and remarkable.
