I don't know how you could possibly give this episode a 1 star that's just insane. It's called The Book of Carol so obviously it's going to be more focused on her. Daryl is still in half the episode or more. The overall quality is great and the action scenes are very well done along with the acting from everyone. People are for sure just mad because Daryl and Carol haven't reunited yet and I get that, but it's going to happen just give it some time. Ash is such a great addition to the show and I can't wait to see how he reacts to finding out Carol has been lying to him about Sophia being alive. To anyone who watches this just to hate on it, respectfully find another show there's a ton of them!
The Book of Carol from The Walking Dead offers a deep, poignant exploration of Carol Peletier's evolution from a meek, abused wife to a fierce survivor. The novel delves into her psyche, showcasing her resilience and the complex choices she faces in a brutal, post-apocalyptic world. The writing captures her strength, vulnerability, and the emotional toll of survival. With vivid character development and a gripping plot, The Book of Carol is a must-read for fans seeking a deeper connection to one of The Walking Dead's most compelling characters. Hope the have many more seasons I can't wait for them to be released!!!
Honestly, I think that Carol is entirely redundant in the Daryl Dixon spinoff. I have never understood their relationship in The Walking Dead, to begin with. Are they friends or wanna-be lovers or... what? His pairing with Isabelle is perfect. Let them have their thing. Carol's character has become annoying in the last Walking Dead seasons, and she is still annoying here. What does she do? Comes and ruins a person's livelihood for selfish reasons and lies. Why does she even look for Daryl? I am disappointed, as the first season had a new location, a novel arc, and some interesting characters. This season started as a disappointment.
The story with Carol & Ash meeting the environmentalists was the best part of the episode. Melissa Mc Bride & Manish Dayal have a easy flowing chemistry & everything feels natural and finally Carol has arrived in France.
I took points of this episode because I dislike The Nest religious story, mainly because its boring, predictable & has been done many times in others shows & movies. And the characters involved in the story are either annoying, boring or have no character depth.
Daryl's story at The Nest & his relationships with Laurent & Isabelle are so artificial & forced. Its like watch paint dry. I hate when writers change characters to push a bad plot and this is what is happening with Daryl in this series.

Yall wanna complain about everything, its carols and daryls story and in this episode it mixes them beautifully with the themes of skepticism, faith, and hope. You all complain about the side characters not having enough depth but when the series shows them you complain "not enough daryl". This show isnt about daryl getting back to America its about what twd has been about which is relationships and power shaped by the apocalypse and how crazy manipulative people exist without being held back by typical things like morals, religion, and(or) law.
Not only that, appreciate the shots, this show (and especially this episode) has been beautiful with great cgi and if youve been to france maybe yall would appreciate it more. Idk i was excited to see people be excited like i was but its the same boring people who want to hate on the show because they have nothing better to do with their lives. Personal opion this episode is like a 8.8-8.9 but im giving it a 10 for all the degenerates who got butthurt when rick or glenn died but continued with the franchise just to hate whenever they could. Its so upsetting when fanbases like the bcs one appreciates flaws or slower episodes when their show is slow as its adds to the themes and is shot very well but when it happens in twd its met with opposite.

- TriviaWhen walking down a street in Paris, Carol stops to look at a sign written in French. It translates to "For Us! Unite! Genet Feeds the People. Genet Protects the Living". Which is referring to Marion Genet, the leader of the Pouvoir Du Vivant (Power of the Living), the French paramilitary faction that controls most of France and the primary antagonists of the Union of Hope. Another sign across the street says "Genet fights against disease". The signs in front of the market where people are being given food says "Every Wednesday Genet Feeds Paris".
- GoofsConsidering his experience with the noise of the plane attracting attention, it seems like a mistake for Ash to land so close to Paris. Not only is it going to attract the attention of walkers, but there's a good chance people will come looking for it as well.
