This is a fairly dumb romantic drama about Leyla, a 30yo lawyer who works for her uncle's firm, and who is torn between different men. Her friends are also her coworkers and everyone' lives revolve around her life's dramatic episodes. She is mostly portrayed getting sad/angry-drunk and bouncing between two main suitors. One of the suitors is a long-term partner and the other is someone she barely knows (and he barely knows her).
A flash forward device is used to preface the story at the beginning of each chapter/episode. The structure and writing is very much like a contemporary telenovela. I mainly watched this because it is set in Turkey and I was nostalgic for a past trip that I took there., and not because of the story.

This was my first time watching a Turkish show and I binged the entire season in a few days. At first it seems like it's a set up for a cliche enemies-to-lovers romance but this show really surprised me with its depth and nuanced storyline. I found the main character, Leyla, extremely relatable and loved her. Her friend group and co-workers were also relatable for the age group of the characters as were the ups and downs of her relationship with her ex. I'm looking forward to season 2 and watching Leyla become an even stronger and independent woman in her thirties. And hopefully a lot more of Cem too ;) I'm surprised by the low ratings on IMBD but it's doing well on Netflix for a reason. As an American viewer I thoroughly enjoyed this show and highly recommend it!
I was reading New York Times newspaper writer Lulu Garcia Navarro interview with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos
She talked about the series Thank You Next
starring Serenay Sarikaya and said
My latest obsession is a Turkish TV series called Thank You Next
I was like ok let's give a chance
Since I have obsession with romantic comedy But when I watched it I was shocked cuz it's beyond just a fun romantic comedy
It's story line is so deep especially when it comes to episode 6 to 8
It's about nowadays relationship issues and when you watch the series you can easily find signs from your own life
The leading actor carried the show Also the male leadings had great job
The whole team nailed it
Looking forward for season two
I also checked Netflix charts and it was on the charts for three weeks in row now airing
Also I it's a big success for Turkish series
So to anyone who's reading this be sure you can easily watch it.

Thank you next ;KGKG has become a sensation on Netflix, and it's easy to see why. This Turkish series is a delightful mix of heartbreak, messy dates, and courtroom drama, all wrapped up in a package of romance, humor, and stunning visuals. As viewers dive into the world of Thank you next they're taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, thanks in large part to the stellar performance of Serenay Sarikaya as Leyla. Sarikaya brings Leyla to life with depth, complexity, and authenticity, capturing her strength, vulnerability, and determination in a way that's truly compelling. But what truly sets KGKG apart is the undeniable chemistry between Leyla and Cem. Their on-screen dynamic adds an extra layer of intrigue and excitement to the series, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats and eagerly awaiting each new episode. With its captivating storyline, stellar performances, and perfect blend of romance and drama, Thank you next is a series that's impossible to resist. Whether you're a fan of legal dramas or simply looking for your next binge-worthy obsession, Thank you next has something for everyone. So grab your popcorn, settle in, and get ready to be swept away by this Turkish gem on Netflix. 🍿👌😁
Definitely looking forward for season 2!!! It was such a very fun to series to watch. Very light. Also very funny. I love it because I was just laughing the whole time. Serenay Sarikaya played Avukat Leyla Taylan very well, so different from her old and other characters. A few more suggestions;
We want more Leyla Taylan's story.
We want to see Leyla doing the lawyer job seriously. We want men coming from Leyla's working place. Definitely another lawyer from opposing team that Leyla could explore as well. I love how the story totally revolves with Leyla. Her friends, her family, her job. But like I said, I want to see Leyla more in her lawyering job.
