    Billions at its best

Honestly, I felt since Axe had left in season 5 the show was struggling to get back to this kind of quality... But these past few episodes have been absolutely brilliant, the writing is impeccable, rhythm, intrigue, acting, humour, social commentary, everything is there!

What I love about Billions is how accurately it depicts the zeitgeist and the propensity of modern capitalism to feed greed, lust and love of power while at the same time eating people's soul and making even the lucky few actually sad and miserable. Being at the top isn't success when it means plodding away with filthy businesses...

Billions is one of my favourite shows and this episode is definitely up there with the greats I'll revisit often with pleasure!

Hopefully, the season's final episodes will meet the high expectations set since episode one... We know Prince is going down, how though? And who will get down with him. I'm personally worried about Sacker, though her character's complexity makes her a decisive element, it seems her soul has departed never to come back.

The end scene will blow your doors off

This whole episode is brilliant from beginning to end. The script written for this has everything in it. The machinations from everyone involved will have you glued to the TV. The end scene will either make your jaw drop to the floor or have you cheering, you decide what you want to happen. I did both. It is sad to know that this series is ending. For what it is worth, the conclusion to this saga will be fantastic, but bittersweet for all the fans of this masterly crafted series. This episode is befitting of being a masterpiece where you wish you were Bobby Axelrod kicking your enemies right in the balls and rightfully enjoying it.

    Not sure about this episode

It was a good episode, but some of the reviews have gone over the top. It is great to see Axe back but the show was still padded out with obscure cultural references and the reviews seem to be written by the PR department on speed. And I am still not sure what Prince has done wrong, other than there has to be something odd about about anyone who has pots of money and the chance to enjoy an agreeable life, but still wants to go into politics.

But a lot of it comes back to the endless references to obscure TV shows, which makes it seem as though the script writers are preparing for some sort pub quiz marathon.

As said, a good episode, but some of the ratings suggest that the PR department are on overtime.

    6 Minutes of Greatness

This episode backslid, from last week, and dragged for 54 minutes, then a little magic happened: Damian Lewis went toe-to-toe with Corey Stoll and ate him alive-reminding us why 'Billions' was once great. Do not misunderstand me, I did not say Axe went toe-to-toe with Mike Prince, though, of course, they did, I mean Damian Lewis took Corey Stoll to acting school and wiped Lincoln Center with him! Of course, it took 54 minutes to get us there!

Otherwise, the cultural references have threatened to become the script. Chuck Rhoades, Sr. (Jeffrey DeMunn) always makes me laugh. And Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) is finally growing on me.

Two episodes left and the stage is set. If we go out with a bang it will be the best we could have hoped for-after the entire season 6, and 8 episodes of 7, full of dreck!

It's a different show with Damien Lewis

This season has been superior to the last one, and is culminating in the return of its best character.

The writers packed the show with movie and music references and while I couldn't get them all they were rewarding. The side story of whether the team of traders would accept the changes was an interesting way to give them some screen time during an episode when what you care about is how our favorite team is going to do what we all know they need to do.

However, what made the episode the best of the season so far is they made us think the story was going in one direction and then dropped progress on us. The musical accompaniment for this change was perfect and fit Axe to a tee (if you know what I mean).

If you've come this far you've been rewarded.
