There are no names given to the main characters, therefore you never have to remember them. You could say it's a nod to the title of the movie.
At the end of the movie the Doctor played by Patrick Bauchau tells the character played by Wes Bentley to "live with a question" followed by some words in french. Those are a fragment from Arthur Rimbaud's poem "Bonheur" (Happiness): "O saisons, ô châteaux, Quelle âme est sans défauts?" ("O seasons, O castles, What soul is without flaws?").
