"Absolutely A Mess"
The plot of 'Psycho Ex 2024' falls flat I mean literally. Although there may have been premise and had some promise the execution was left with nothing to be desired. The movie was lacking in the suspense department and the characters felt one dimensional and underdeveloped except for one of the actors who I recognized from countless of other movies and that I've seen Mr. Eric Robert. The motivation of the movie was not captivating at all. A whole lot of pacing problems within the characters and the scenes were just dragging which was so unnecessary. The Dialogue felt forced and unnatural in all directions.
FAILED!!!!
At least we know any scripts you come up with and put together production wise these big film companies won't shy away from it as long as you have a large budget backing it. This film was just not it at all but I feel like I've heard the Psycho name on countless of other titled films especially through Lifetime channels full movies and episode programmings that they show. Honestly in my opinion this was just a rushed production and it wasn't really thought about or the pitched idea of the film was not deeply taking into consideration at all but it was a great try. Possibly going a different route on the film would be the best option in my honest opinion because this ain't it.
Totally failed wannabe thriller
The ending of this (intended) thriller is the rock bottom of depressing, but since it's based on true events (or so they claim), I probably cannot blame the makers for this. I can, however, blame them for all the rest. Because this movie really is, in everything that matters, below every par!
The acting of the whole cast is terrible - are they even actors?! The score is irritating, and the whole movie looks like it's filmed with a handheld smartphone. All member of the besieged family are unsympathetic to begin with: the mother is an hysterical ADHD, daughter Jill is a cranky btch, and daughter Megan a sullen dope. And the supposedly fearsome stalking psycho-ex is a babyfaced teen with a tantrum and a lisp. Why didn't the three at the start of their ordeal jump in the car and drive the hell out of there, in stead of stepping out of the house just to call 911 and then stupidly going back into the house again?! And there were countless moments when they could easily have thrown themselves on top of this guy - like in the end when he took forever to drown Jill in the pool, and Megan stands totally passive, just speechless and appalled, behind his back!
Anyway, the whole project breathes low (to no) budget and amateurism. I sat the whole thing out, just to see the psycho-ex get his comeuppance, but they even denied me that satisfaction. In short: a totally failed wannabe thriller.

A bit too far out there...
From the movie's title and cover, it is obvious that it is a thriller. And since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to sit down and watch the movie.
Writer Jared Cohn put together a script and storyline that proved entertaining enough for what it was, but it was pretty far out there. The psycho ex character of Derrick was just a tad too much, and the things he did equally so. And the ineptitude of the LA police department and the inability of the family to step up and actually do something to protect themselves was just astounding.
The acting performances in the movie were fair. The only familiar face on the cast list for me, was Eric Roberts, and it isn't like he is an impressive actor.
"Psycho Ex" is a watchable movie, for sure, but it is a bit outrageous and realism is out the window. If you enjoy thrillers, then you might get a bigger kick out of this movie than I did as a casual viewer. But there are far more enjoyable thrillers out there.
My rating of writer and director Jared Cohn's 2024 thriller "Psycho Ex" lands on a four out of ten stars.

Wtf horrible
This is one of the worst movies the women were annoying just running around doing nothing but screaming the ex bf kills everyone get over it and they just watch how did this get aired can't believe i even watch this don't waste your time this should be taken off air. I dont think this could of been a good movie if they tried was just awful. Acting was bad and the guy with the Grey hair is in every kind of these movies The end he just killed himself and made a video about why he did it so dumb and why do you need 600 words also to say how bad a movie is. Nothing else to say just horrible they should fix this site there should be no minimum how we dont like movies lol its not ordering food just writing reviews why we dont like movies.
Did you know
- GoofsWhen Derrick is starting to dig a hole to bury the dead delivery guy, the eyes of the delivery guy is open, but they are closed in the next shot when the camera angle changes.
