More of a thriller than a horror, I found myself more invested with every minute! Great acting, cinematography and clever characters that feel real and authentic. And of course, a bonkers, over the top ending that still has me a little shook!
I saw this film thinking it would be a standard horror flick, but it was so much more. The story has depth, heart and showcases young, super talented actors in unique roles.
The script, cinematography and practical effects make The Other feels like it has a much larger budget. This independent film proves that with truly talented people behind the wheel, it doesn't take a huge budget to create a memorable and fun film. This is perfect film to insert into your regular Halloween rotation!

The VCR repair shop made us all watch this for the last 20 minutes and I'm glad I saw it. Because the end of this film is insane in all good and bad ways. It's just a shame we had to sit through an hour and fifteen minutes of absolute trash to get to it.
The acting is some of the worst I've seen in a film that is this competently made. The dialogue is AI for sure. But they were right, everything does pretty much have a set up and payoff. It's just not worth the watch.
Watch the RLM review, it's much more entertaining. I am looking forward to seeing all the films Mike recommended though. They seem actually good. Thanks guys.

The Other starts off slow, focusing on atmosphere and character as foster parents Robin and Daniel welcome the mysterious, mute Kathelia into their home. While the pacing may test your patience early on, it steadily builds unease with subtle supernatural elements and a growing sense that something is deeply wrong. Once it hits its stride, the film becomes intensely disturbing, with gory, haunting visuals that stick with you. Paul Etheredge leans into dread and emotional tension rather than cheap scares, making the payoff feel earned. If you're into slow-burn horror with a brutal edge, this one is worth watching.
This is my first review of a movie on IMDb, it's worth watching, but the ending was really confusing. I wish they had ended it better cause it was a decent movie right up until the last minute before it ended. It's still worth watching but the ending leaves you wanting more!! I went to several websites, hoping for the ending to be explained to me. And none did it is a little slow in the beginning, but picks up speed lotta jump sequence good special effects, but they're ending just really in a better word "sucked." I'm not going to name any spoilers in this review. I'm just saying that you gotta watch it and then judge it for yourself.
A terrible movie saved by a bizarre third act. Some of the characters and plot points have been done before, you find yourself laughing at the movie rather than being scared, and the story doesn't really make sense. But the overall metaphor and core concept is intact, and there are some truly wild moments.
