This is the episode we needed. By far the best episode of the season and perhaps among the best of the whole series. The episode contains very chilling scenes which bring back "The Boys" vibe compared to the prior three episodes. Also, we get to know much more about Homelander's origin and how he was tortured in Vought's laboratory. Furthermore, we also learn more about Starlight's backstory from Firecracker. I cannot wait to watch the rest of the series as it looks very promising now, which I have not felt with the earlier episodes. Brace yourself for a much darker episode and a very chilling Homelander.
The earlier episodes of the season were.... lets say a little stale at best. It was worth it. Absolutely. This is the best episode of the season so far, and it might even be one of the greatest in the entire series. I hope the future of the series and this season will continue on as great as it always has. Homelander was stunning this episode. It was extremely well acted and the writing was excellent. I can surely say i absolutely enjoyed this episode and im hopeful for what is to come next. I will however say that while it is awesome, I hope that the future can be better, for the series and for the show.
After a somewhat slow start to the season, the boys picks up with one of the best episodes to date. Nearly every character is given their own time to shine, each in their own unique plot lines. Even though the show is splitting its attention between nearly 15 characters, the pacing is absolutely immaculate! Nothing feels rushed whatsoever, and the episode is not afraid to take its time for certain scenes. Every plotline is simply fantastic this episode. Homelander has one of his best episodes ever, Butcher is excellent as always, Hughie and Kimiko have an amazing team up, Starlight and Firecracker's beef escalates to an insane degree, Frenchie has an excellent conclusion to his plotline this season, and even characters like Ashley, A-Train, and the Deep get their time to shine. The episode is also filled with absolutely wild twists in it that could potentially change everything for the boys. It is absolutely an episode that will keep you glued to your seat. Diabolical!
After a pretty mediocre start, episode 4 completely demolished the first 3. Homelander stole the show, thanks to Antony Starr's Emmy level performance. So many characters face their past in this episode, Frenchie, Kimiko, Hughie, Annie, A-Train and Homelander. It really makes you connect with these characters and the troubles they faced in their past. The writers beautifully tied in all these storylines into one hour of pure mayhem and fun. Episode 4 set up plenty more in the upcoming episodes, which I am sure will be just as good as this one. In my opinion, this is a top 3 episode of the Boys, and rightfully so.
His performance in Season 4, where he further delves into the character's psychological nuances and unhinged behavior, has only solidified his reputation as a standout actor in the series. The depth and menace he brings to the role make a strong case for Emmy consideration, showcasing his ability to balance charisma and villainy in a way that keeps audiences captivated and unsettled. Antony Starr's Homelander reaches new heights of character development and dramatic tension. Starr masterfully captures Homelander's escalating instability, blending moments of vulnerability with terrifying outbursts of power and control. His ability to convey the character's inner turmoil and the facade of invincibility makes for a compelling and chilling performance. The layered portrayal not only highlights Starr's versatility as an actor but also elevates the narrative, making a strong argument for Emmy recognition in a role that demands both subtlety and sheer intensity.

- GoofsIt makes no sense for Ashley Barrett to leave a floater in Homelander's bathroom. He is so extremely petty she could not put it past him to have the fecal DNA analyzed in order to find out who did it.
