While it excels in its biting satire and compelling characters, its approach to political commentary often feels one-sided. The episode show frequently critiques conservatism and right-wing ideologies, portraying them as inherently villainous, idiots, false-morals or hypocritical and left-wing as the heroic view with right-morals. This heavy-handedness can detract from the nuanced storytelling, leaving viewers craving a more balanced perspective. By leaning too much into bashing conservatism, "The Boys" risks alienating a portion of its audience and oversimplifying complex political landscapes. Despite this, the series remains a thrilling and provocative watch.
This episode was pretty much above average, it had some cool things going on but it does not feel like theres 2 episodes left for this season.
This feels like something that should happen in episode 2-3.
Most of the scenes were pretty weird (which makes me not surprised) but it something that should have been done a little earlier.
Overall this season is pretty boring because it does not have a main goal or anything. All the previous seasons had a goal to achieve.
I expected a little more to come out of this episode, but it feels like the season only started but we only have 2 episodes left.
Maybe this is good for season 5 but season 4 feels more like a build up.

It's a fairly entertaining episode. The best bit is probably Homelander trying and completely failing to wing it in a room full of the great and powerful and then Sage letting Homelander down through no fault of her own. Where it lost me is just the further and completely unnecessary descent into depravity for the sake of it. Unlike the last season there is nothing very compelling going on in terms of the story which seems to mean that the writers are just trying to create comical vignettes focusing on extreme nastiness. A couple of episodes back it really worked, but this episodes just reveals to us how entirely hollow that is.
Used to love this show but I doubt I'll return for the next season.

This season had the most mediocre first three episodes on on a season 4 on television, I'm tired of people saying this season is going to be one of the greatest season in TV but in reality season 4 of The Boys is not top 10 season 4 of all time, neither top 30 season of all time, the ratings in the boys season 4 is such a embarrassment compared to Mr. Robot, The Wire, Attack on Titan, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Legend of the Galactic Heroes season 4's, let's not forget the obvious plot of Butcher hallucinating about his friend not being real which is a copy of the film Fight Club & Mr. Robot but they did it so much better then the boys, I still find it laughable that The Boys season 4 is never going to beat Mr. Robot season 4, I can't wait for people overhype this mid enjoyable season and call it one of greatest even though it's not.
Love this show but but it absolutely has a major problem with pacing. Seasons 1 and 2 are full of hilarious satire of American politics, the entertainment industry, and the superhero genre, and lots of gore. BUT at the core is still a compelling enough plot that keeps moving forward.
The problem that started showing it's head in Season 3 was that there wasn't enough story to go along with the commentary and violence, and now in Season 4 it's much worse. 90% of this episode is just shock value, making you fear what's gonna happen but the show's main characters have such indestructible plot armor that you know they're never actually in any danger. So instead it's an hour of just, nothing? So far Season 4 feels like 2 or 3 episodes of content being stretched to 8.

- TriviaJack Quaid wanted the comic storyline of Hughie going undercover as a superhero to make its way into the show. Eric Kripke said, "always be careful what you ask the writers for."
- GoofsIt makes absolutely no sense for Tek Knight to have so little security around his billionaire mansion that the Boys can drive up to the front entrance and Kimiko can break and enter just by climbing the facade. That would not even be possible in a gated community for moderately wealthy "regular" people.
