This movie looked good but I couldn't get through it. The lead actress, who plays Alyssa, is absolutely awful. Her acting isn't even good enough for community theater, let alone cable television. And not to be mean, but she is very unappealing. Casting her ruined what might have been a decent movie. Lifetime movies are a guilty pleasure but this one was a definite stinker. It is apparently based on true story. Maybe the real version is more interesting than the Lifetime version. Hopefully, when casting future movies, Lifetime will make an effort to hire better actors. As a side note, why does everyone in every Lifetime movie live in big beautiful homes, only drink wine and never lock their doors?
Yeah ill admit it, this film was not as bad as others ive seen. Of course the acting is not great, espeically from our detective character who does neither feel or look like he would be one. Casey hodge on the other hand I felt was belivable and her acting has something that could be further explored. She plays alyssa. A woman that wakes up in a bed she dosnt recognise and does not at first relize the man she is in bed with is dead. Instead of telling the cops she goes to friend cindy for help for some reason which makes her more suspicious then she should. So alyssa tries to be her own detective and does a better job at it. I mean this film was not the worst really and credit where credit is due casey hodge was godo.
This was painfully bad. The "plot" is extremely hard to follow and does not really make much sense whatsoever. This film is essentially following A woman who wake up in a bed next to a dead man and don't remember how she got there. The entire theater groaned when everyone thought the film ended and it continued on to another scene and some even left prior. I do find it hard to believe that this was enjoyed by people because it is one of the worst things I have ever watched. I wanted to leave the theater but I was with a group of people and we decided to stick it out. I would not ever recommend anyone watch this pointless nothing film. Very grueling to sit through because of how horrendously bad it was.
I really enjoyed the movie. It is definitely not the greatest acting but its what you would expect from a lifetime movie. I cant believe the other remarks on the lead actress' appearance. She is actually very beautiful. I appreciated seeing a biracial actress lead which is something you just don't see enough of. Her overthinking is comical and frustrating but it fuels the plot and keeps you intrigued. This is definitely not a movie I would pay to see in the theater, but it is a nice cozy comfortable at home mystery/thriller that keeps you intrigued with not too much violence and nice twist at the end.
This was a fairly enjoyable movie with some good dialog (if not the best writing overall) and reasonable performances by the cast (although the actor playing Officer Willis had some odd line readings). I'm not sure that the criticism the lead actress is getting is entirely fair: yes, she came across as a complete dimwit, but that was actually required for the plot to function at all. After all, if she just went to the police immediately after she found the body, and didn't spend most of the movie evading them, the movie would have been five minutes long. I mean, everybody was telling her to hand herself in, even the killer (not a spoiler, like I said *everybody* was telling her to hand herself in). Yes, there was physical evidence against her, and it was believable that she would be scared to go to the police; but it clearly was her best, if not only, option. But, like I said, the performance made her actions believable. Since, as far as I can remember, this is the only thing I've ever seen her in, I'm not sure if this was good acting, good casting, or just good luck, but it was what the movie needed.
