Went into the theatre's with low expectations, came out with relief

"Blue lock : The Movie Episode : Nagi" is a cinematic masterpiece. It tells the full story of the anime in Nagis point of view in the best way possible and delves into the charecter of Nagi soo much. And the ending and end credits scene was perfect. I loved the whole "Isagi is the villain and Nagi is the hero" style of the story, and the score of the film was perfect. The theatre experience made the movie even better. My only complaint was that it went thru the matches a little too fast, but that isn't really a complaint. Overall, the movie captured the story of the original anime and manga and shot it perfectly. Must recommend for anime, football lovers and to the people who watched the anime or read the manga.

Blue Lock The Movie - Episode Nagi

"Nagi" is a bit of a loafer at school. Quite happy to play video games all day only interrupted by the odd nap and food when he absolutely has to. Then he encounters "Reo" - a very wealthy boy with purple hair and purple eyes - who sees in him skills that would make him an excellent addition to their football team. "Nagi" is completely indifferent to this proposal, but his new friend persists and with promises of becoming the best striking partnership the world has ever seen, he manages to induce just the merest hint of fire in "Nagi" - and they become inseparable and unstoppable. This earns them the attention of the Japanese Football Union and both are invited to attended the most competitive football school in the whole nation - the "Blue Lock". It's here that the two - along with a few hundred other aspiring young men - must grow up and learn how to win, lose, play in a team - and this tests their friendship as "Nagi" starts to emerge from the protective and encouraging umbrella of "Reo". Though it's based on a series, this is an enjoyable stand alone film that is quickly paced and written quite poignantly to expose the characters (and us) to some of the difficulties of maturing, making tough choices and getting used to not having everything your own way. At times it's actually quite an emotional animation with plenty to play for and no easy answers.

more like a recap than a movie

As a blue lock fan i was really looking forward to watch the movie. I think it wasnt bad as most of the review said but it wasnt a masterpiece either. I wont really recommend watching this before The blue lock tv series because (as i expected) they just recapped and took out a lot of thing. The tv show itself is better than the movie but it still worths to watch the movie.

Now to the movie: i found the background music kinda weird, there wasnt any plot twist, as i mentioned its more like a recap. It doesnt contains really flashy things and wont get you addicted to. Its just a slow movie for people to rewatch the tv show without actually spending 48 hours on it.

      But i liked it:)

      Cashgrabber.

Is this even a movie? It feels like a season one recap but from a different point of view. We have pretty much seen everything from this movie except the first few minutes where they showed Nagi and Reo's backstory. Other than that, there was nothing interesting about this movie.

The animation was really mid. If anything, it was worse than the anime. Some shots had weird character proportions and it felt like the studio rushed this movie. Wait, did they even rush it? Cause they reused a lot of clips from season one, lmao. The only thing that carried this movie was the soundtrack. It was amazing.

I don't know if it's just the plot, or the movie as a whole, but Nagi being the main star of this movie failed to keep me engaged. I understand that he is just a lazy guy but it makes this whole movie so boring. Even if we were shown with another side of him and his emotions for Reo, I still didn't feel much for him.

My only question is only why is this even made into a movie? It could've been a short episode to show Nagi and Reo's backstory, because the rest is just a short recap of season one. Who agreed to make this movie anyways?

As a Blue Lock fan, I want to say that it's better to not watch this movie. Please save your money.
