To raise money to produce the film, the filmmakers sold the naming rights to the planets and the space ship that appear in the film. "GB - 165", the number on the side of the ship, is the number plate of Greg Barber (producer Nick Barber's father).
The original working title of the script was 'The Scarlet Brotherhood', and featured Lann and Wey using powers to 'bend space and matter'.
The 'tunnel effect' of all of the lights turning on in the corridor was discovered by accident when a crew member walked past a light with a plank of wood on their shoulder. The effect is created having the lights either side of the corridor obstructed and then removed at the same time. It took nearly 30 takes to synchronise properly.
There was heavy rain during the shooting of the forrest scenes and much of the area flooded on the last day of shooting. Luckily the only parts that remained un-flooded were the locations needed for that day of shooting.
'Aislinn' is based off a Celtic Saga, 'The Dream of Aengus', who is a prince who obsessively dreams of a princess. The names 'Kyr', 'Lann' and 'Wey' and 'Aislinn' all have Celtic origins. 'Aislinn' means to dream.
