Mantra Warrior: The Legend of the Eight Moons

Well this Sci-fi animation is based on Ramakien, one of Thailand's national epics which even me as a Thai don't know anything much.

The directing and pacing in the first of the movie is just too fast and feeling like I am treated like autism kid and the comedy which just mid, it's ok and fun for somebody who can enjoy it so I am fine with it.

The 2d animation flash back in this 3d animation film is surprising the whole audience(?) or just my artist freind? Idk. It's medium.not good not bed. I personally think that's not just Cinema level 2d Animetion in my opinion however it's good to see something new in Thai Filming,Animation industry.

If you enjoy 90's japan anime fights cene, Cool sci-fi superhero design mixed with mystical fantasy vibe with mind blowing world setting with super fast pace story telling. This is your movie.

Mantra Warrior: The Legend of the Eight Moons is beautifully craft visual design and sound design is great. Even though story is quite linear, Each characters personality and relationship can't be seen much in movie, but still hame some unpredictable situation which can be a big story turning point in sequel. The Movie is like first part ot a whole big story.

Mantra Warrior: The Legend of the Eight Moons may not a perfect movie and a lots to improve, but I still enjoy it so much. And looking foward for the sequel.

It's a Thai animation with so much action and fun that you'll want to go to war with the characters on the screen.

It is a new interpretation of the Ramayana. And unpredictable Even if you've read the Ramakien, you won't be able to guess this movie because it's ripped off a lot from the original Thai version. I really like it, and the robots are really cool. Including brutal scenes.

Everything is good, except for the dialogue in the movie, which looks a bit like Japanese anime dialogue. But it's not a problem. I like this kind of dialogue. And then do things that Thai animation in the past has never done.

Score 9/10 for this movie is that the movie doesn't let the audience feel connected to the characters as they should. But the art work is considered to be very outstanding, very beautiful. If you go see it for the art or for entertainment, it is very worthwhile. There are 2 post-credit scenes to pave the way for the next part.

This is an adaptation of Ramakien. To wit, it follows it's basic plot with accomodations for its sci-fi setting. However, the pacing and characterisation suffer considerably, making this rather shallow if you're not familiar with the epic, not helped by how some characters are reduced to archetypes.

The strength off this movie is its animation, which is a painted CGI style alongside animesque character designs. The sci-fi setting itself loans a lot from Thay cultural motifs and Hindu mythology, so if you're in for a fictional world based off Southeast Asian cultures you're in for a treat.

Overall, a decent but flawed effort.
