Even though it's low budget, it could be better

After going through a divorce, Kristin inherits her aunt's house in a small village. As she arrives a spate of unexplainable suicides occur and Kristin gets drawn into the evil brewing in the town.

This is a really low budget production, so if you're expecting a masterpiece of cinema, with good special effects, I'm sure "Valley of the Witch" isn't what you're looking for.

The plot is really bad. I don't like stories told in a twisted way. This is a shame because even at around 80 minutes it still feels too long with a number of scenes far too drawn out to hold your interest. The story is tied up from the middle to the end of the film.

The cast isn't good (I didn't feel particularly attached to any of the characters), and, finally, the script is very poor.

    I don't recommend. 1/10.

    Not good...

Not only is the plot simple and boring, but the CGI used is also very, very bad. The acting is not bad but it's not good either. I would personally not recommend this movie to anyone, given the fact that I'm still regretting spending my evening with my friends watching this instead of doing something much more interesting and fun.

    Had so much potential

The movie is not as awful as some of the movies I've seen. That said, this would use a lot of work to be a good b-movie. Some of the fill shots are actually really nice- if it were a music video based in the Welsh countryside, those shots would work.

The acting is not the worst I've seen at all, but I feel a lot of the issue is the direction and the script. A lot of the time, I was found wondering what on earth was even going on, and questioning why the characters were even saying or doing what they were doing.

Overuse of slow motion, and the super-long running scene near the end, followed by the longest cut to black I've seen was almost funny. Everytime something unfortunate happened, or a sound effect was used in an over-the-top manner, me and my partner would have a shot. We were rather tipsy by the end, it has to be said!

I think if it had a different writer, or at least someone to ask the writer why parts of the dialogue were included, as well as perhaps a more consistent lighting tech, it wouldn't look so bad.

Oh and the person who wrote the score... Well, it was... Interesting. Most of the time completely unnecessary and very, very cringe worthy.

    Another Lee Bane Classic

The only way to survive The Valley of the Witch is to have something to latch onto. In my case it is the actor Lee Bane due to the fact he has starred in a large number of terrible films yet still gives every performance everything he has.

The plot is something about witches getting killed many years ago and now a welsh cult from modern day are trying to resurrect them for some unknown reason. Lee Bane is a gritty welsh detective that is trying to solve a mass suicide case which has no importance in the main plot and might as well have been a separate film.

All the actors in this film (apart from Lee Bane) are totally flat and uninteresting, the special effects (if you can call them that) look like they were done in power-point. The score is surprisingly good for such an awful film.

In short DO NOT watch this film unless, like me, you are trying to watch all of Lee Bane's films for some strange reason.

Doesn't merit such a high rating

Yet another Andrew Jones rubbish rip-off with yet another 'Top Cast' of unknowns. I don't know if you need a licence to make featureless films or not but if you do, Jones should lose his, and quick! He's the writer, director, probably make-up man, costumier, hairdresser and Chief Sweeper-Upper but he cannot make a decent film. Lee Bane, Jones favourite leading man or more likely the only person who works for nothing. Avoid this like the proverbial Plague and anything Jones has any involvment in.
