Hôtel Silence

This movie is such a nice relief from the usual diet of car chases, shootings, and bad dialogue. It delivers a powerful message of resilience, self-discovery, chance encounters, and the openness to experience something new to set your life back on track. The acting is wonderful, the setting is unique, and I was drawn completely into the story.

The main actor, Sébastien Ricard, has a subtle way about him. He loves and can be loved. It's impossible to imagine what faults his ex-wife found in him. He exuded a gentle chemistry with the two women, Lorena Handschin and Irène Jacob, who found him interesting. They are great actors as well, and the young man, Jules Porier, who runs the hotel showed enthusiastic spunk while mired in a seemingly hopeless situation. Well done!
