Set in 1980 on a family farm in East Texas, Jack takes care of his last living relative, Grams, who has dementia and is bedridden. One bright morning Jack walks into his grandmother's room to find her on the floor. He thinks this is it... until Grams calls out for him, they are both shocked she suddenly remembers everything. They talk for a long while about good times and bad. Eventually, the conversation leads to Grams asking Jack to show her "mercy" while she is still present. Jack is torn, she's the most important person in his life but is this really living?
