I think this wTs a great movie about 1st love because I can relate to it and I am sure others can too. I have seen lots of negative reviews about this because of the ending but if you read my last comment her maybe it will help. The high school boy falls in love with a girl who is in love with someone else but he gets very close to her and is around her all the time - in this case he is a pretend girlfriend doing a favor for his best friend (in high school) who is having an affair with her and that guy doesn't want his real girlfriend to find out so he arranged to have a pretend girlfriend for her. Of course the guy playing the role falls in love but being inexperienced and shy can't bring himself to tell the girl his real feelings and she has some feelings for him too, but in reality she is foollishing still in love with the other guy who uses her all the time. The role playing ML just wants her to "LOOK AT ME" - meaning see me, I am the one that loves you - right in front of you but she won't see him. The ending is not a mystery at all - it is all told in the theme song at the end which is played very clearly and translated at the end called "Look At Me" by the band Weaver or Momose, "Kocchi wo Muite". At the end of the show if you still don't understand it, listen to the song, read the lyrics and you will get it. Beautiful song. So many times a guy in high school - friendships, really loves the girl and just can't say it and listens to her giving her a shoulder to cry on. The girl just can't see what's in front of her the whole time.
