One of the coolest and most genuinely horrific premises I ever beheld was in Lucio Fulcio's "City of the Living Dead", when the suicide of a priest in a graveyard leads to the opening of hell's gates to earth. Why am writing this? Because, for a very brief moment, I hoped that "Disco Inferno" had a similar premise. The story opens atmospherically in 1955, with a nun confessing to murder and baby-kidnapping before hanging herself in church. Alas, though, after the promising intro the plot goes into a totally different and utterly stupid direction. "Disco Inferno" is a good example to illustrate why you shouldn't bother with short movies. There's no context, character depth, or decent build up. It's only 20 minutes long but manages to be boring for fifteen of those, and the denouement is pathetic beyond words.
I dont get the point on producing something like this.
Without giving top much away: They start with a ludicrous premise that you feel needs to be explained in order for the audience to know how did we get there om the first place, but it never is explained. Then we move to years later where there are obvious connections to the aforementioned premise story, but even then, things just happen out of the blue and there's just no satisfaction given to the audience in terms of the writers going "so this is how we got here from there, see?" You end up with a feeling of "but why?" Pointless, shallow and meaningless. At least its short.

I can only speculate that this was meant to be a kind of demo reel for the people involved in the production to burnish their resumes and show they have the necessary technical skills to work on some future costumed period drama or PG-13 horror movie. In that case good for them, it certainly looks more polished than the average student film. But the story and writing are inane and they were (apparently) surplus to the demo reel objective of showing the production team's directorial, cinematographic, acting, set design, et cetera competence. This certainly wasn't made for public consumption or to entertain an audience. So why release it?
Omg. What did I watch? First of all I have to say please do not produce short horror movie. Because till now every short horror movie is so boring, so annoying, so meaningless. No horror elements in here. By the way I like the idea, maybe someone can make a long version of that but with this version it is really absurd. I like disco atmosphere. Dresses and looks was good. I can say I loved only this part of the movie. What happened actually I don't know. It is so open ending story. Why happened this exorcism things to main character no Idea. That was stupid part. This black eyes situation was really unnecessary. Anyway I think it is kind of experimental movie and cinematography was good but no story, no acting skills in it for me..
What absolute twaddle. I am so frustrated right now, and yes, bitter! I have came up with ideas, I have written short stories, and nothing has ever been picked up by anyone. I then turn on Netflix and watch this rubbish! How in the actual flubber does stuff like this even get produced? Complete and utter waste of time! I think they are trying to be clever and artsy, but is just comes across as an absolute dog's dinner of a production. Hell even the actors don't seem to know what their motivation is supposed to be. I am absolutely still shaking my head in disbelief that this is a thing that was written, produced, cast, filmed and distributed!
