Filmed in 18 days spread out over a 12 month period to accommodate the schedule of the actors.
The original actor who was to play masked killer Dargle had to pull out of the production the day before the first day of the shoot. Aidan O'Sullivan who is a friend of lead actress Danielle Keaney stepped in last minute to play the role.
During the shoot the crew drove past a dead fox on the road. Seeing this director Anthony White used the opportunity to pay homage to the famous 'Armadillo' scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Actual pigs hearts and innards were used by the special effects department.
The Hatchet garage and bar is the real name of the petrol station used in the film.
