Lance Barber and Zoe Perry in An Ankle Monitor and a Big Plastic Crap House (2024)

Goofs

An Ankle Monitor and a Big Plastic Crap House

Young Sheldon

Edit

Continuity

Connie's ankle monitor changes from her right ankle, when first attached and when she shows it to Georgie, to her left ankle, when Dale later asks her if she wants to go get liquor.

Factual errors

It is impossible for water to spray up like a fountain out of the drain of a toilet bowl. It is a drain and there is no pressurized water connection to it.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Sheldon does his customary triple knock when knocking on MeeMaw's door. It is revealed in The Big Bang Theory (2007) that he developed this knock after not knocking and finding his father in bed with another woman at the age of 13. [EDIT]: It might seem that this has not happened yet in Young Sheldon. However, it has, earlier this season. The incident in question was actually with Mary, costumed as a German tourist without Sheldon realizing it, in Ants on a Log and a Cheating Winker (2024). The writers have simply neglected to adjust Sheldon's behavior accordingly to show him being traumatized by that event.

Miscellaneous

Given the size of Medford, it seems strange that they would be using a septic tank instead of being connected to a city sewer system.

Character error

When Sheldon is trying to visualize the porta-potty as a TARDIS, he says (in voice-over), "I was not Sheldon. I was Doctor Who." Someone as pedantic as he is would have said, "I was The Doctor." 'Doctor Who' is the show title, but the lead character is called 'The Doctor'.
