Set in a mysterious hotel- a metaphysical way-station for souls on the edge of life and death. When high-achieving businessman Ben Grant finds himself a guest, he embarks on an existential journey of redemption and self-realization. As Ben grapples with the hotel's enigmatic rules, he's introduced to other guests, each in their own personal purgatory, contingent on their earthly conditions. Haunted by a recent business deal and a drunken agreement that put his employee, Nick, in harm's way, Ben slowly confronts the reality of his circumstances-a devastating car accident precipitated by his decisions. In a time-twisting turn of events, Ben discovers fellow guest Eddie is the son of Nick, the man who died driving Ben the night before. Trapped in a cycle of hatred and substance abuse, Eddie's life has been a series of repeated visits to this hotel due to drug overdoses. Battling overwhelming guilt and a yearning to right his past wrongs, Ben makes a self-sacrificing proposition-he trades his life for Eddie's. Recognizing this unforeseen opportunity to change his fate, Eddie leaves the hotel, trading places with Ben. Ben, now redeemed, checks into the hotel and leaves his life behind.
