Started well finished badly
I'm ok with a slow burn start as the characters aee introduced and the initial mystery is laid out . I'm ok with twists and turns as characters react to events and reveal their strengths, weaknesses and secrets.
I'm not ok with characters who do stupid things for plot reasons, especially in the last episode, which is an absolute mess and undermines much of the work done getting us there.
The Big reveal is largely telegraphed, but is one of the few things that makes any sense.
And of course the dreaded To Be Continued appeared as the screen faded to black.
I wont be holding my breath for season 2.

Slow start but when it gets going. Wow
I wasn't sure about this series after EP 1. But things got going after that and what a ride it was.
I thoroughly enjoyed the crow girl. It really held me.
The series has quite a few things going on at once. You've got misdirection and red herrings thrown in for good measure.
The leads are excellent. Support is very good too.
Maybe the most unconvincing is the doctor but there's a reason for that.
The series avoids getting bogged down in internal and family politics. Yes there's some in there but they never get intrusive.
I'm Really looking forward to the second season.
I originally thought it was a self contained one off series.
Thankfully it's not.
Can't wait for season 2.

The Crow Girl. Not your average police procedural.
The Crow Girl evidence great storytelling with a powerful cast. The lead actress Eve Myles ( my favorite Welsh actress. I will watch anything she appears in). The Crow Girl had me enthralled from the very beginning of episode one. It's methodical and sneaks upon you. It's a thinking person series. Now watching episode two. This series has a range of interesting storylines, murder, incest, and trauma i. E., mental illness. I'm excited to see the conclusion and the outcome of these three story lines and their interconnections.
Watching and enjoying. No disappointment here.

A bit slow but...
I truly do not want to give anything away here. Others have criticised The Crow Girl for having too many plot lines that don't all get wrapped up... but that is what season 2 is for? Weird thing to pick apart really, since this is not a standalone movie.
The first 2-3 episodes are a quite slow and challenging to watch, but it's all worth it for the plot twist towards the end. Usually I see things coming from a mile away but not this one. It's extraordinarily well done whilst at the same time you'll be kicking yourself for not figuring it out in the first place.
In other news: Eve Myles is bloody brilliant in this. Great actor.

Oppressive
I don't really understand why people have to say it was predictable. Yes, of course some things are predictable; so much has been made over time. Try coming up with something new. I liked the lead actress, but I found her husband an annoying freeloader. Her team was okay, and I found the story very oppressive. But from my perspective, it was pretty good. I watched it in one sitting. And I was sad that it was over, I would have liked to see another season, with a new case.
(Can someone explain to me why I have to write a bunch of sentences when someone else can do it in 10? I'm sure you can't email me, but try it. Pip2020 Via DuckDuckGo email address.
