Rise To The Top Season 1: A Whole New World is based on portions of the first two novels of the unreleased Rise To The Top novel series from Dune Raven Hope Jones.
The main character of Rise To The Top, Hannah Walters, was originally going to, gradually, become a lesbian as the story went on, but instead she was presented as a lesbian from the very beginning of the story.
Rise To The Top Season 1 was originally designed to be a self-contained story, with some open doors for a Season 2. However, it was redeveloped to ultimately be a street-level self-contained story, but with a Season 2 being fully in mind when writing Season 1.
Hannah Walters was originally going to start Rise To The Top Season 1 with a boyfriend named Jackson Wren (brother of Hannah's now ex-girlfriend Emma Wren). However, this was changed, and Jackson, for the moment, is in that list of characters from the original iteration of the Rise To The Top story as a novel series that have gone unused but could very well be used in the future.
Series creator and show runner Dune Raven Hope Jones was originally going to create all of the music for the show themselves, until they found exceptionally talented music composer/producer Ashlee Craft, who ended up having a great deal of talents.
