While there are weaknesses in this the final season of curb, I think there are still genuine laugh out loud moments that very few shows can produce. I think Larry David's problem is his sheer genius has created such a high bar: to compare this season to others is disingenuous. The art of making people laugh is far more difficult and precious than the art of ripping him apart on review sites. People saying that Leon and other characters are just phoning it in I think isn't fair. They are the people that made the show what it is. Is Larry supposed to create a bunch of new characters to keep everyone happy? As he said, this is the last season, treasure the fact we ever had this show at all rather than nitpicking at reused material and tired actors. Everything has a beginning middle and ending, and I will be shedding a tear when the last episode airs as this show has been a lone beacon of humour through a quite frankly insane period of time. I am not for the mawkish or sentimental but if something is true it is not sentimental. So I say in truth, I love you Larry David.
