I'm not sure why comedy has to include politics? What happened to Larry David making fun of common problems or common social norms? Once you bring politics into it, now people have to take sides. Politics aren't funny. And politics don't stand true over time. Seinfeld will be funny for decades because it's nonsense. If it made fun of politics during the late 80s it wouldn't make sense now. Politics isolate people. It's really a shame, I wanted to like this new season. Shame, Larry David, shame. I'm disappointed and also I have to type a certain amount of characters so I'll just keep saying shame.
Larry has spent way too much time in LA. The constant trope that every southerner is a racist imbecile imitating Larry the cable guy is exhausting. Yawn. Besides the ignorance, the political pandering has reached an all-time high. Shocking, the NY/LA native worth half of a billion dollars thinks he's a voice for the common man. As great as this show was, it has now become a medium for condescending democrats to pepper you with lazy jokes.
All of this said, the style and flow of the season has held up and provides a few laughs here and there. David is taking a well-deserved victory lap to round out his incredible career.

Obviously not as funny as the show's peak. These past couple of seasons have had this feeling of being scripted and forced for a while now and unfortunately, this season doesn't seem to be any different.
But at the same time, I still found these first two episodes funny, and the second one more than the first. So I'm not complaining that much. I'm glad to have more Curb in my life since it's been so long since we got more new episodes. And I'm happy that Larry is actually maybe giving the show a proper conclusion instead of just announcing the show will not get any new seasons.
Anyway, the episode structures do have the same feeling as how the show has always been, with setups and payoffs in each episode. And surprisingly one payoff to the last episode's setup of Jeff's hair dye that I thought was weird they mentioned it without following up on it in the last episode. But it does come together nicely for the Lawn Jockey plotline to happen. But I think as funny as the Lawn Jockey joke is, it's kinda the most predictable thing to do and it's weird to have it be the joke payoff they're focusing on. But I guess it ties to his plea in the hearing.
Overall I think this is all gonna come together and become a much bigger thing than this and a lot funnier. I just think that the main plots of the episodes aren't as memorable or interesting as they should be and they're pretty much predictable and not as hilarious as the situations Larry got himself into in the older seasons. I just wish they toned down the scripting and the phoniness for the last season and did it the usual way with the improvs that felt way more organic and funny.

Obviously, the quality has been steadily declining, but this season is a new low. Hard to even muster a laugh. Better than the first episode, but nowhere near even the weakest of episodes pre-season 11.
Trying to shoe horn in these political narratives at every opportunity is annoying. Regardless of whatever you believe, compared to how he presented his political views in earlier seasons - the biggest issue is that these jokes aren't funny. Even the MAGA crowd thought the bit with the hat in season 10 was hysterical because there was a truth to it that everyone could laugh at. These new attempts at political commentary are not only unfunny, but they're unoriginal and very niche. Like the Giuliani "joke"? That happened over 3 years ago and was a relatively obscure event. Just a weird punchline to spend so much effort building up to.
Also stupid how these first 2 episodes are ending on cliff hangers. The whole plot of the show is lost.
Overall, while this was still definitely better than the premiere, this was another subpar episode.

Okay, here we go! Much better than the last episode. That one felt very forced with not so funny story lines. This one had really funny/wacky situations that you normally get from Curb. Not one of the all time great ones, but it felt natural and didn't feel forced. I am totally okay with these episodes.
I hope this was just a rough start and not what the whole season is going to be like. I get what Larry is trying to do, he's trying to recreate the last episode of Seinfeld. I wonder how he'll do it. Like him, I think the ending was genius, so we'll see how he does it here.
The Bruce Springsteen cameo was very funny by the way.
