Summary
Reviewers say 'Your Friends & Neighbors' explores themes of wealth, privilege, and moral decay, often through a satirical lens. Jon Hamm's performance is frequently praised, with many noting his ability to bring depth and vulnerability to his character. However, criticisms include the show's implausible plot, lack of character development, and excessive use of sex scenes. Some reviewers find the series shallow and unengaging, while others appreciate its sharp writing and complex characters. The show's portrayal of the wealthy elite and their moral dilemmas is a central theme, though it divides opinions on its effectiveness and relatability.

Don't know why the industry thinks we need more shows about awful people we could never root for, but hey here we are... And while we're here, let's enjoy this quite realistic portayal of obnoxious shallow delusional 50 year olds which in some level are your friends and neighbors unless you're really lucky in life.
The first three episodes were quite interesting and bingeable, the twists are there and the writing is balanced, also there are signs of a protagonist arc (not a very original one if it is the "a hole hits rock bottom and discovers the meaning of life after being forced to turn to crime") I can see this finding its crowd and pace for two seasons but not much further, I will be finishing the season for sure, even the worst apple tv shows are still quite good.

Hey, this is my first review here ever so take it with a pinch of your favorite condiment, on the other hand I hate nothing more than spoilers so read it safely.
This tv series is no different than any others, there's no chance you could please everyone and just like in life, if you read more reviews you'll find them all, great, amazing, bad, terrible and so on.
What I think this show offers, and bare with me, this is only up to episode four so far, is a bit of everything, a bit of humor, a bit of drama, a bit of unnecessary, just about as usual, now what I think makes it a great show is by delivering some great lines, if you're like me, and love a great line, you'll find plenty in this one, quite like in "Landman" where Jon is a protagonist as well, but those lines there don't come from him, but still a great watch that was, again... in my opinion.
I think those who will enjoy this show are those in mid/late 30's+ and I say that as I believe many will find themselves in one way or other in some of the scenes you'll be witness throughout the show, a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at times, but not a bad one, it's normal to feel that way, it will bring up memories, good and bad possible, especially parenting wise, it hits the spot for quite some of us with that, hence the mid/late 30's+ note.
Overall I think it will find it's own crowd.

The two above had a great run with Banshee
Their edge carries over in this one
Pulling in Hoon Lee as his best friend and business manager is great side kick and he always steals show with his sharp wit. Not to mention a couple of episodes with Banshee alum Matt Servitto as the shark lawyer. John Hamm carries any show he's in and is a smart choice. Trooper always finds leading women who can carry the men along and make the show complete
I doubt this will be as violent as Banshee but if it is, expect some over the top scenes as well
Olivia Munn is my favorite female lead and best surprise so far.
Love what I see so far.

I started watching this show with no expectations and very soon it took me in. A great, smooth and funny John Hamm and the rest of the cast is also well chosen.
Basically the story has a lot of potential and could become something huge if the surprises keep coming. Up to this point the storytelling is subtle and intriguing, although I don't like the part with the troublesome kids, which I think is just too worn out. But besides that, it has its moments, nice one liners and of course the superb narration of Coop which always come into play at the right time.
I believe Apple TV just landed another great show.

I have to say I really enjoyed this series even more than I expected to. Besides Apple TV always putting out bangers, I'm a fan of both Jon Hamm and Olivia Munn so I was looking forward to this since the moment first heard about it. I'm glad it didn't disappoint. The thing that did surprise me though is it's funnier than I expected. Your Friends and Neighbors is about a hedge fund manager (Hamm) who gets fired in disgrace. Not knowing what to do next he resorts to stealing from his Westmont Village neighbors. Besides the money and valuables he steals he also comes across a bunch of secrets his wealthy friends have that prove to be very dangerous. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a fun new show to watch.
