A down on her luck cleaning lady, and her two friends, are reluctantly tasked with stopping creatures of folklore from rewriting history, when a doorway to the realm of myth is opened in a house she cleans for.

Frederick is a forty-three-year-old attempting to build a "real" adult life, working two jobs alongside her two roommates, Dani and Chase. Although the trio's criminal records have hindered their prospects, they found work cleaning houses. A genius inventor, a crass but nurturing bookworm, and a quick-witted aspiring homeowner, Dani, Chase, and Frederick make up a complementary triad. The three women are called to clean the dwelling of a single mom who intends to sell her home when some eerie threats appear after her daughters play a superstitious game of Bloody Mary. The house has all the makings of her dream home, so Frederick appeals to the realtor and her former classmate, Whitney, to put in an offer. However, Whitney brushes her off, implying she's too poor to make a legit offer. Aesthetically, Whitney has a perfect life, but in truth is dissatisfied with her lot, and turns to the occult to change her reality. After discovering an emerald portal leading to a mystic realm containing The Book of Destiny in the single mom's basement, she orchestrates supernatural events to drive the family out. Whitney succeeds in opening the gate but releases a hoard of characters from folklore that threaten humans in the process. Astoundingly, Dani's newest invention, a cleaning solution, effectively sends the characters home. Thus, prompting their lucrative business in mythological pest removal and rehabilitation.
