Jackson's performance is tremendous; you can clearly see the immense effort he put into convincingly portraying Chun Hu, a young man grappling with cerebral palsy.
Diana Lin, as the grandmother, delivers my favorite performance in this movie. She embodies the kind of loving, supportive grandmother everyone truly needs in their life.
While some parts of the movie might seem a little dramatic, that's entirely in keeping with its nature as a melodrama, serving its intended purpose effectively.
I've come across reviews suggesting that YaYa's role was unnecessary, but I found it quite important. The film effectively portrays the challenges Chun Hu faces in trying to lead a normal life, and having a love interest at that age is a crucial part of experiencing normalcy.
There are scenes that will undeniably move you to tears. To be honest, I went into the viewing with the intention of having a good cry, and the film certainly delivered.
Overall, I thoroughly loved this film. The story was great, the casting was spot on, and the song at the end was a real treat.
Jackson's another movie better days is a masterpiece too. Such a talented actor yet very underrated. Hope to see him shine more in the near future.
Parents are the same weather it's China or India, hahaha. 99% don't support or trust their own kids, be it when they are in school , college or even after marriage.
When our creator has not created our own hands equally, why expect everyone fo be similar.
Loved the movie. I hope more people watch it globally.

Liu Chunhe: You are the star up in the clouds, I am the weirdo who traverses the river of lonliness. The executioner on the bridge, is killing dreams. The gunshots from the embankment, killed all desires.
