A solid start and a full plate for disaster movie fans

Thats a great begin to a story set in two parts, following different people in a context of imminent destruction. Science once more plays an important part and people insist in not giving credit to the signs that something bad is going to happen. It's sensible and it has a very good cast of characters. Very solid start and a full plate for disaster movie fans.

The family plot in contrast with the people that knows what is going on is an awesome parallel that makes everything more interesting. To put credibility in check, to risk generating caos for nothing, and the dilemma of letting people decide for themselves is so well written that makes me eager to watch the next episode. Everything is in place and this show deserves more recognition!

    A solid start.

A Norwegian family take a holiday on the beautiful Spanish island of La Palma, their visit coincides with a terrifying natural event, the volcano starts waking up. Local scientist Marie identified volcanic activity, but her research is dismissed.

It put me in mind if Supervolcano from a few years ago, it has a similar feel, you're watching with apprehension, waiting for the big bang.

I'm not oversold on the whole family element in this first episode, they're an interesting enough bunch, but I'd have liked a bit more from Marie, she is definitely interesting.

Aways wonderful to see the very excellent Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and as always he's great.

It has my interest, I'm looking forward to the disaster angle.

    7/10.

A dessert for nerdy ppl like me

Okay so I dont think this episode was good nor bad, I just think this episode was like an example of what the show is, I see that it has some bad reviews but honestly, I enjoyed this! The plotline is not that hard to understand if you have a functional brain, and this series is PERFECT for a disaster enjoyer, I have only watched the first episode though, and I think this is a pretty solid episode, something that I'd like to point out is that throughout the show there is a diversity on languages throughout this episodes run-time, english, spanish and norwegian, languages that I want to learn, also this show is pretty neat for basic earthquake/tsunami knowledge, as someone who has a hiperfixation on those topics this show is LITERALLY FOR ME AAARRGH.

    • Trivia
There is no such institution as the "Insituto Geologica de La Palma". La Palma volcanoes are monitored by the national "Instituto Geológico y Minero de España". The building shown, is a visitor center for lava caves from the 1949 eruption.
    • Goofs
As they are stepping out of the car to go on a hike, female clearly has on tennis shoes. When they show her again as they start the hike she's wearing boots. Then it moves to an aerial shot and she's wearing tennis shoes again.
