Reality Shock

This episode would have been a campy good time, except that Jesse Tyler Ferguson's dreadful acting totally ruins it. The whole show is fun and silly, although its weak point is that some of the acting goes past being silly and enters community theatre territory. But Ferguson really takes the cake, basically sounding like he's doing his first script reading through the whole episode. It's a shame because the Lavish Ladies are way more convincing and fit the vibe of the show. It also just wasn't the best written episode, with a pretty flimsy motive for murder and pretty much nothing about it being convincing.

So far Elsbeth is very much like Columbo. When a murder takes place she has an inkling as to who the suspect probably is.

The problem is, if there is suspect that who is too obvious the bad guy. They are acting shady right off the bat.

Wendy Wexler is a reality television star with a huge social media presence. Wendy had a disagreement with the show's influential producer Skip Mason (Jesse Tyler Ferguson.) She had some dirt on Skip and threatened to expose him.

When she is found electrocuted in her bath. Elsbeth believes it is no accident.

As Skip is acting so slimy, it really is a case of trying to find a way to bring his guilt out onto the open.

Ferguson pitched his character too broad. Maybe this is how television producers are really like, shallow. Too me the whole thing was rather weak.
