After the success of Angamaly Diaries (2017) and Bheemante Vazhi (2021), actor-writer Chemban Vinod Jose is all set to collaborate with superstar Mohanlal and veteran director Joshiy for their upcoming film ‘Rambaan’. The film was officially announced on October 30, 2023, with a motion poster featuring Mohanlal in a stylish avatar, holding an axe and a gun. The poster also revealed that the film will be a Vishu release in 2025.

‘Rambaan’ marks the reunion of Mohanlal and Joshiy after a gap of eight years. The duo has delivered several blockbuster films in the past, such as No.20 Madras Mail (1990), Naran (2005), Run Baby Run (2012) and Lokpal (2013).

The film boasts of a stellar crew, including Sameer Thahir as the cinematographer, Vivek Harshan as the editor and Vishnu Vijay as the music composer. Vela is an upcoming Malayalam film that stars Shane Nigam and Sunny Wayne as police officers who work in a control room in Palakkad. Those of us who are die-hard fans of Malayalam director Lijo Jose Pellissery were wondering how he would ever follow up his experimental crime thriller Eratta Kuzhal/Double Barrel.  Last fall came the announcement of Angamaly Diaries:  produced by Vijay Babu's Friday Film House (Philips and the Monkey Pen, Aadu), written by actor Chemban Vinod Jose (who has been in all of Pellissery's films), with music by Prashant Pillai (the composer for all of Ljp's films as well) and cinematography by Gireesh Gangadharan (Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Kali, Guppy).
