Richard Kind really has been in everything: Spin City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Argo, countless Pixar films, and, of course, Sharknado 2, to name just a very few of his very many roles (more than 300 in all).
Along the way, he’s made a name for himself not only as an actor, but as an incredible showbiz storyteller. Whether it’s stories about pranks with his best friend George Clooney or working with legends like Carol Burnett, Kind always has a yarn to spin — so much so that he’s decided to make a whole production out of it.
How Not to Be Famous: A Conversation with Richard Kind is his new stage show in which he tells some of his best behind-the-scenes tales and fields questions from the audience that inevitably turn into more stories. The show begins its run on January 24th at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania,...

This post contains spoilers for the "Sharknado" franchise.
Why is the "Sharknado" franchise still culturally relevant? Well, for starters, the appeal of the stupidly entertaining combination of the words "shark" and "tornado" has come together to create a string of unforgettable movies with progressively ridiculous narratives. Moreover, all the "Sharknado" films are defined by a conscious "so bad that it's good" factor, with a deliberate bend towards schlocky exaggeration meant to be humorous and baffling.
The premise of the first "Sharknado" film is extremely simple: a tornado ravages Los Angeles, which floods the city, causing man-eating sharks to make their way into land. A group of survivors try their utmost to outlive this catastrophe, as they need to figure out a way to evade the sharks while steering clear of the aftereffects of the tornado. Even with this rather fat-fetched premise, this could have been a serious survival drama — thankfully,...

If you’ve always dreamed of owning all of the Sharknado films in one, neat box set, we have some great news for you.
Sharknado – The Ultimate Collection will be released on Blu-Ray on 26 February 2024. The box set will contain all six Sharknado films as well as a ton of extras, spread over four discs.
If you’ve never had the pleasure of watching any of the Sharknado films, here’s what you need to know: there are sharks. In a tornado.
That’s it. And honestly, what more could you even want?!
The first Sharknado film was released in 2013 and received mildly positive reviews, as did the first sequel in 2014. After that, the franchise seemingly fell off a cliff a little bit, but the series has got a relatively loyal fan base who are always up for more weather-related shark action.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who used to write for Fangoria magazine back in the day, has directed twenty feature films over the course of his directing career – and several of those are shark thrillers. Ferrante was the director behind the over-the-top shark action of Sharknado, and when that movie turned out to be a pop culture sensation he returned to direct all five of the increasingly over-the-top sequels. The franchise wrapped up in 2018… and now, five years later, Ferrante has directed his seventh shark movie. A production of The Asylum, it’s a thriller called Blind Waters – and it’s already available to watch on the Tubi streaming service! To help you decide whether or not this movie is something you’d want to watch on Tubi, we have the trailer embedded above.

When Jaws emerged in the summer of 1975, it created the shark horror genre as we know it today, spawning countless rip-offs in its wake. Some good. Some bad. Some just plain ugly.
The new Shudder documentary Sharksploitation is a must watch for lovers of this particular trend, and it dives deeper into the phenomenon to explain why we love these types of films.
Endless movies now exist within this “shark exploitation” category – many being talked about this week in honor of Discovery Channel’s 35th annual Shark Week.
Even if most don’t match the magic of Steven Spielberg’s classic, many great shark films exist within the “sharksploitation” subgenre. And some of them even happen to be sequels.
In honor of Shark Week, and Meg 2: The Trench, here are five under-appreciated shark sequels.

Mike Fenton, the legendary casting director who worked on the “Back to the Future” franchise, “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and scores of other classic movies and TV shows, has died. He was 85.
Fenton co-founded what is now known as Casting Society of America in 1982. He was a prominent casting director for more than 40 years, with a mile-long resume that stretched from “The Andy Griffith Show” and “That Girl” to “Chinatown,” “American Graffiti,” “The Godfather II,” “Blade Runner,” “A Christmas Story,” “Norma Rae,” “Footloose,” “Honeymoon in Vegas” and “Chaplin.”
“Working with Mike Fenton was like working in a candy store — he made casting a blast,” Steven Spielberg said in a statement. “His fervent support of actors was the stuff of legend, and after landing a part, any actor’s smile was rarely as wide as Mike’s. He didn’t just support actors, he launched crusades.

If ever there was a cult horror franchise to ramp up the escapism at the expense of reality, it’s Sharknado.
The six-part saga initially whipped up a storm back in 2013 with a premise so bizarre – so bat-shit insane – that it demanded attention: Sharknado is a “made-for-television sci-fi disaster film about a waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and deposits them in Los Angeles.”
With each new installment, things got progressively more insane, as Sharknado‘s writing team tossed in time travel, dinosaurs, and chainsaw-wielding heroes, culminating in the launch of Sharknado 6, the final entry in this most bizarre of franchises.
And this weekend, you’ll be able to revisit Sharknado from the very beginning. Because whether you’re a series newcomer or a life-long apologist fan, Syfy has announced an all-day movie marathon. It kicks off at precisely 8am Est on Sunday, April 5th, and the...

In 2013, the Discovery Channel’s long-running documentary series “Shark Week” aired a show called “Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives.” The premise of this show is that Carcharocles megalodon, the largest predatory shark that ever lived, is actually not extinct—and that scientists and the government know that and are lying to you. It was completely fictional, featuring CGI video, photoshopped images, and actors claiming to be scientists, government officials, and family members of victims.
Many viewers believed it to be real, which was not surprising because it aired on non-fictional educational television and included only a brief, vaguely worded disclaimer at the end of the credits.

It looks the sharp-toothed winds of Sharknado are about to come to an end. Syfy has greenlit a sixth and final installment of the campy sci-fi horror franchise, Deadline has confirmed.
The yet-to-be-titled sequel will bring back Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, and Vivica A. Fox. Five-time Sharknado helmer Anthony C. Ferrante will be back in the director’s chair for the grand finale.
In Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, we last saw Finn (Ziering) walking the Earth all by his lonesome after it has been destroyed. The sixth movie will have him traveling back in time to stop the first Sharknado that ushered in this cult franchise.
The Sharknado movement started in 2013 and has since garnered a rabid cult fanbase on social media that ate up all of the franchise’s B-movie glory. The first movie was followed by Sharknado 2: The Second One, which was a series-best reeling in 3.9 million viewers.

“Sharknado” is coming to an end.
The Syfy film franchise is set to wrap up, with the upcoming sixth film to serve as the franchise’s swan song. In true, ridiculous “Sharknado” fashion, the final film will see lead character Fin (Ian Ziering) travel back in time to save his family. According to Syfy’s official synopsis, the sixth film will also feature “Nazis, dinosaurs, knights, and…Noah’s Ark.” Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, and Vivica A. Fox — all of whom have appeared in the previous films — will also appear in the sixth, which is set to air this summer. Anthony C. Ferrante will return to direct as he has for the previous five films.

All good campy things must come to an end: Syfy has greenlit a sixth and final Sharknado film, TVLine has learned exclusively. The currently untitled Sharknado 6 is slated to bow this summer and will find the franchise diving into uncharted waters: time travel.
As you may or may not recall, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming found Ian Ziering’s leading man Finn wandering alone on Earth after it was destroyed. In the final flick, he must travel back in time to stop the Sharknado that started it all.
In addition to Ziering, Sharknado 6 will bring back franchise vets Tara Reid,...

Hey Big Brother fans. We've got a new report that recently came out for the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother USA edition. This one is actually from one of the wannabe celebrity contestants himself. Perez Hilton of Perezhilton.com recently created a new post titled, "Celebrity Big Brother America!" In the post, he revealed that he wants to definitely compete in the Celebrity Big Brother USA season that's scheduled to start in a few months. In a very cocky or confident manner. Whichever way you want to interpret it. Perez explained why he should definitely be chosen to appear on the show as well as why some other celebrities who have shown interest shouldn't be considered. He called former Nsync boy band member Lance Bass a very nice guy, but too vanilla to be on Big Brother. On the other hand, he said of himself that he's going to "deliver," and...

This is either going to be really good or so bad, it’s great. But either way, ABC’s relaunch of Battle of the Network Stars (premiering Thursday, June 29 at 9/8c) is looking like the summer’s must-see — especially since on Tuesday the full list of competitors was released. The celebrities we’re most psyched to see throwing down in events like the kayak relay race and dunk tank:

The latest film in the franchise, Global Swarming, might just contain a hidden message for Trump to rethink his decision on the Paris climate agreement
Everyone knows the Sharknado formula back to front by now. There is a tornado full of sharks that, for whatever reason, seems hellbent on destroying our stocks of awkwardly self-parodying, Z-list nearly-celebrities. The only people who can stop them are two or three people who were relatively famous a quarter of a century ago. Throw in a lukewarm mugful of basement-bin, so-bad-it’s-bad irony and, bingo, that’s your Sharknado. And your Sharknado 2: The Second One. And your Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! And your Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

I seriously can't believe that there is going to be fifth Sharknado film. SyFy and Asylum announced today that they've started shooting Sharknado 5, and Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will once again reprise their roles as shark-fighting experts Fin Shepard and April Wexler.
It amazes me that there's such a big following for this stupid-ass franchise, but people seem to enjoy the ridiculousness of it. I've personally just found it painful to watch. If you are a Sharknado fan, I've got an excerpt from the script for you along with a description of the story.
Yep, there's that wonderful writing fans have been waiting for. As for the synopsis, here's what was given in the press release:

Syfy’s Sharknado: The 4th Awakens hit land this Sunday night, and just as with the previous sequel, the forecast called for tireless, tiresome stormchasing (or being chased by storm), as Fin Shepard and family again weathered extremely fishy meteorological phenomena.
PhotosSharknado 3: 40 of the Bad, Worst, Silliest and Shilliest Moments
Because make no mistake, whereas the original Sharknado was an expectedly silly and serviceable Syfy lark, Sharknado 2: The Second One was downright clever in parts (as confirmed by a partial, second viewing I stumbled into this weekend) and actually had a semblance of a story.

“Sharknado” Cassie Scerbo gets the best/worst line of the first movie, and delivers it with the appropriate amount of overwrought emotion: “They took my grandfather, so I really hate sharks.” At the movie’s climax, Scerbo falls out of a helicopter while fighting off a shark — into the mouth of a different shark. Not to worry: Scerbo is rescued from the shark’s belly when Ziering dives chainsaw-first into its mouth and cuts them both out. “Sharknado 2: The Second One” In a nod to the first movie, Ziering cuts a shark in half with his chainsaw, in slow motion,...

You may have trouble believing this, but the “Sharknado” franchise isn’t above the age-old practice of reviving a once-dead character in a sequel. Or is it? Ahead of “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens,” SyFy has revealed the results of a social-media campaign based around a simple question: “Does #AprilLive or does #AprilDie?” The character in question is played by Tara Reid, a mainstay of the series since its first installment. Watch the video below to learn her fate.

Five years since the last Sharknado attack, the deadly flying sharks are back in “Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens” — and this time they’re invading Sin City. The first official trailer for the SyFy made-for-tv film has just arrived, and it’s even more ridiculous that we expected.
The story picks up five years after the third film when Fin (Ian Ziering) and his family thought they were safe from the man-eating sharks. Everything changes when the killers return with a vengeance, this time in Las Vegas. And one thing that’s for sure, “what happens in Vegas, sure as hell won’t stay there.”

When flying sharks aren’t quite enough chaos for your movie, what do you do? The answer is simple. You add Gary Busey. That’s just what happened as SyFy announced that the mercurial actor and reality show regular will join the fourth incarnation of the Sharknado series. Busey will play April Wexler’s (Tara Reid) father, a scientist named Wilford. The network also announced that former supermodel Cheryl Tiegs has signed on to the made-for-tv movie as Fin’s (Ian Ziering) mother as has comedian Tommy Davidson. Whether this new casting will breathe life back into the series remains to be seen. Last summer’s Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! had 1.1 million viewers in the 18-49 demo. This was down 31 percent from Sharknado 2, which aired in July 2014. It’s unknown whether Tara Reid will reprise her role. Sharknado 3 ended with a cliff hanger about her fate...

WildEye Releasing have announced they are set to release the directorial debut of Scream Queen Debbie Rochon, Model Hunger. After nearly 300 films, Rochon (Return to Nuke ‘Em High, Phobia, The Theater Bizarre) steps behind the camera to skewer audiences with her blood-curling take on an actress’ response to forced retirement.
Former pinup model Ginny (Lowry) had been cast aside by the heartless and exploitative modeling industry. Ginny didn’t take rejection well and grew into a revenge-seeking, bloodthirsty, broken woman. When her new neighbors Debbie (Shepis) and Sal (Capobianco) move in, Debbie begins to notice strange things going on. Sal believes she is mentally unstable, but Debbie becomes determined to figure out what secret life Ginny is leading. Her new nosy neighbor throws a damper on Ginny’s private life: her cannibalistic addictions and ever-growing body count. Both women become determined to put an end to the other’s obsession.

SyFy
When SyFy commissioned the original Sharknado, they could never have expected the pop-culture phenomenon that it would become, a so-bad-it’s-good classic whose popularity saw the fast-tracking of a decidedly funnier and more self-aware sequel in last year’s Sharknado 2: The Second One.

The social media phenomenon continued with Sharknado 3’s SyFy premiere, and so it’s not too surprising that Sharknado 4 has already been confirmed. Given...

With the UK getting its first glimpse of the Asylum's latest disaster-piece tonight (July 23), we bring you the 8 best and very worst moments from Sharknado 3 below:
1. White House Down
There's a certain art to a Sharknado opening scene. Viewers want their man-eating sharks and lots of blood from the get-go, and each new movie has to find a new way to satisfy them.
This time around, a hokey presidential ceremony - complete with a genuinely depressing cameo from all-time great comedian Robert Klein for the second year running - for the one-man army known as Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) was quickly dispatched so the sharks could starting destroying the Us capital.
Producers The Asylum's choice to give non-actors Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter lots of speaking lines in Sharknado was a bit negligible,...
