Louis is a craftsman. He confidently uses the mechanics of joke telling, and that's great to watch. But what makes him and his comedic persona unique is the omnipresence of intelligence and control. It feels like watching an engineer building an engine screw by screw.
He has great control over his delivery of jokes, great balance between silliness and seriousness, dumb and smart, funny and creepy, light hearted and outrageous. The whole experience for me was like playing a great board game. A good board game requires an intelligent design and delivery. Louis Katz knows his craft, and he knows that he knows that. That's why he is so pleasantly confident.
