In addition to Sherlock and Moriarty, the film also has Miles Croft, Joanna Watson and Aaron Adler - spinoffs of Mycroft, Watson and Irene Adler from the Sherlock Holmes universe. The Conan Doyle study room and the Sherlock Mural pathway at the Toronto Reference Library also feature in the film. Further, the film's title is derived from the Sherlock Holmes novel 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', continuing the tradition of the InTEXTigator series which also borrows from other Sherlock Holmes novel titles.
