Hidden within the salt water marshes of Cape Cod sits a quiet manor atop a steep hill. While the region is a habitat to a rich variety of wildlife, this particular property is rumored to host creatures beyond the realm of nature. When his wealthy uncle mysteriously passes away, Carson inherits the house, and decides to revisit what was his second home as a child. Inviting some old friends along for the trip, Carson is ready to enjoy a summer weekend filled with cookouts, beach days, and bonfires. However, he neglects to tell them the fabled history of the estate. Legends tell of marsh people; the undead souls of once wealthy settlers who lurk in the bog, set on drowning out those who threaten to reap the benefits of their land. Haunted by the memories of his uncle and uncanny visions of carnage, Carson is preoccupied when nightmarish events begin to plague the group. Rifts form between friends, who are faced with the reality that they are more different than they thought. As members of the party begin to disappear one by one, Carson is forced to uncover the dark secret within his family history, or continue living in blissful ignorance.
