The Flash

I'm a big fan of superhero shows, I even like the ones that most people don't, but The Flash is definitely one of the better ones but it got worse in the latter seasons and that's because The Flash was barely in it anymore. Like a lot of these reviews have already pointed out...the show was more focused on Iris in the last couple of seasons and I think everyone agreed that that was a huge mistake. Ever since the Crisis Crossover they've put her as pretty much a co-lead and every episode was among the lowest rated in the series history because of it. Overall I still give The Flash a high rating because the earlier seasons were just the good and Grant Gustin made a great Barry Allen and Flash. It was the later seasons that failed.

Speed can thrill, but it can also expose every crack. The Flash begins as a lively blend of superhero optimism and sci-fi spectacle, with a storyline that leans on heart, mystery-of-the-week comfort, and an earnest hero who's easy to root for. Its early seasons build a strong emotional core, supported by charismatic performances and engaging chemistry within the main cast, while the visuals though TV-budgeted carry enough flair to make the action fun. But as the series stretches on, its plotlines grow repetitive, the internal logic wobbles, and the once-tight character arcs slip into melodrama which leaving the supporting cast underused or stuck in cycles that dull their impact. The themes of family, loss, and responsibility remain sincere, but the execution often stumbles under convoluted timeline twists and inconsistent writing. It's a show that shines brightest when it slows down to focus on people rather than paradoxes.

The Flash is a fun, fast-paced superhero show that successfully balances action, humor, and emotional storytelling. Grant Gustin's portrayal of Barry Allen a kind-hearted, determined forensic scientist turned speedster is genuinely relatable and charismatic, making the character's journey compelling. The chemistry among the core team members adds depth and warmth to the series.

The show's visual effects have grown stronger over time, and early seasons in particular feature some of the most memorable villains in the Arrowverse. Its inventive use of time travel and the multiverse injects fresh challenges and twists, though sometimes the storylines can become a bit convoluted.

While it occasionally leans into soap opera drama and repetitive plot beats, The Flash remains one of the most consistently enjoyable superhero shows, blending thrilling action sequences with heartfelt character moments.

I was hooked to the season 1, 2 and even 3, 4 but then it gets boring. Liked the action and the concept. Though I do not prefer this kind of genre but then also it was enjoyable. Earlier I would have given the rating as 8 or 9 but as it gets really difficult to watch in later season, I am restricting my self to 6.

Could have been such an amazing superhero show it's a shame that it fell off in overall quality midway through. Whilst seasons 1-2 was very well written and hype, seasons 3-4 was still enjoyable but season 5 was where the decline very obviously started but season 7 beyond is unwatchable and sad to see such a good superhero show fall.
