Osiris

Abandon all brains, ye who enter here - this must be your rule if you watch Osiris. The logic failures are too many to count: the aliens are heavily infected with the well-known Stormtrooper syndrome (like the terrorists in the beginning), and our heroes seem to have the unlimited ammo cheat. On top of that, they most of the time forget they got grenades to use or take the powerful alien guns from the dead and just use them... Anyway, if you're able to switch off your brain, you'll get some B-trash action that's entertaining to a certain degree. But in the last third, it runs out of steam and gets boring - too much bumbum and nothing else. In this sense, it reminds me of the last Wick movies, including Ballerina.

Still, the production isn't too bad, and the entertainment factor - if you like this kind of action movie - is okay. Like many movies these days, Osiris mostly lacks a well-written script, and the story and ideas feel like they were just "glued together" by some AI from other action and sci-fi films. To mind come movies like Predator, Pandorum, Doom etc.

Beyond disappointed. I've never seen a movie with so much action that is so run of the mill that I was tired of seeing guns shot. No characters at all that you care about , you don't even remember one of their names. La Monica garret is so much better than this , this is Thomas from 1883, also in lioness ... 2 of the best Shows on television. Why he took this role is just as big of a mystery of why Linda Hamilton did this? She's got James Cameron money ? What do they have that they blackmailed her to be in this garbage? Clearly I love Aliens, and there is several scenes you can tell are a nod to aliens but just really poor execution. What made aliens - Aliens - was the actors , characters , creepy setting and the pulse rifles and advanced weaponry. This has the budget but just misses the mark On every single aspect that made Aliens One of the best sci fi action films of all time. Linda Hamilton is literally in 5 mins of the movie if that.

A b-movie that is going for a pastiche of many different pieces of media... Predator, Alien, Event Horizon, Cube... Even the video game Gears of War. The main problem is all the padded out gun fights that recycle the same few sets and sound effects, lasting many minutes longer than they should. But there is plenty else to complain about, like how all the aliens look like villians from the Super Mario Bros movie. There is one VERY funny scene that is almost worth the price of admission alone ("... in the city of Compton..."), but mostly it's a cheap, crappy, unoriginal borefest. Linda Hamilton is top-billed but doesn't show up until an hour-plus in, looking worn and haggard.

Worse than you'd expect.

This movie seemingly came out of nowhere, and even though my expectations were not too high, I have to say that I was immediately interested. The plot summary sounded intriguing and felt like exactly my kind of movie. Sometimes these little trashy flicks with beloved stars who do not get good roles anymore turn out to be hidden gems.

Sadly, that was not the case with Osiris. The movie consists mostly of shootouts between soldiers and aliens, with poor lighting and messy editing. The characters were boring and one-dimensional, and the script felt lazy. I liked the design of the aliens and appreciated that they used mostly practical effects to bring them to life. I would have loved it if the aliens had a different combat style instead of just using some kind of blasters. There is one decently enjoyable hand-to-hand combat scene toward the end, which I definitely would have liked to see more of.

As I mentioned, the characters were not particularly interesting, and Linda Hamilton did not have much to do. So if you are planning on watching this movie because of her, you should probably reconsider. Overall, it is not a terrible movie, and I have to admit that it is actually right up my alley because I love films featuring aliens, especially when a group of people is roaming through an unknown environment. But this one was not able to catch my interest all that much.

For genre fans, it is a decent addition. Otherwise, you should probably skip this flick.

This is a sci-fi action movie with a budget less than 10M$. I saw movies with 100M$+ budget and wasnt even half good as this one. With the limited budget the crew did a very decent product. If you want some type of Nolan sci-fi movie with a lot of theories and such then whis is not your type of movie. If you want Asimov's type, then this is not your movie.

This is movie about pure action sci-fi. No unnecessary discussions or characterizations. What we got here is a movie starts with a war and continues with a war and ends with a war. And for its script there is no plot holes since it is all about gun fight.

Im glad some people thought people like me who doesnt like an Alien beats a Kaiju and saves a squirrel. Is it simple? Yes. Is it boring? Not for me. I like what movies are promises to give and this movie gives a bunch.

Although it is an action based Sci-fi i still liked the characterization of the movie about how they react.

If you like shiny, hopeful PG-13 sci-fi movies with ton of discussions and explanations pass this one and leave our taste alone.
