That Puppet Game Show (2013)

FAQ

That Puppet Game Show

    1. They are now adults. 2. They haven't got past series one yet, as did the Muppet Show as it 'matured' and that is in their minds. 3. Muppets ratings didn't have Twitter and Facebook knee-jerk reactions from the public, but relied on critics, audience ratings and the head of light entertainment. 4. The format is actually different. a. It's in a TV studio, not a 'live' theatre. b. It has unscripted banter between puppets and celebrity, not locked down tightly written scripts. c. It has 'live' laughter, whooping, 'celebrity' names being shouted in encouragement etc, (I know, I was part of episodes 7 and 8 as yet to be shown - SPOILER: Gabby and the Hamster win) whereas the Muppet Show was canned. d. The characters are as well worked out as any Muppet was, and this time there's a strong British element running through. e. Characters do equally mad things. Javelin nonchalantly internally worn by the gym mistress, platinum casually handed out or lost by the professor, and comments from the family that are watching it from their living room. Finally f. It is a game show, not a theatre show, with an unknown, unscripted winner of £10,000 for a charity. 5. Disney now own the 'M' word. It is not allowed to be a remake of 'The Muppet Show', hence 'That' in the title as a cheeky illusion to the past.

If those that have enjoyed it bother to Twitter, Facebook and contact the BBC it might. The format will mature. The unscripted banter is different. The games are limited by budget at present for a first series. This show can go wilder, it has the room to expand.
