Unlike the original series, this new series' overall story lines, tone and character designs resemble much closer to the original manga.
Kotono Mitsuishi is the only voice actress to reprise her original role as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon and the only main cast member from Sailor Moon (1992) to be involved with this series. Also in the original anime, she also voiced Chibi Chibi/Chibi Chibi Moon, a role she would also reprise later on in Sailor Moon Cosmos (2023).
Rina Satô was a big fan of the Sailor Moon franchise prior to being casted in this series and always wanted to be the voice of Sailor Mars.
