I truly loved the film! It's both entertaining and thought-provoking, featuring a captivating storyline packed with surprising twists. The technical and artistic elements are exceptional, particularly Sagar Gupta's insightful and polished dialogues, Subhransu Das's stunning cinematography, and Ajay Kumar Balakrishnan's impressive sound mixing. The entire cast delivered remarkable performances, with Mona Ambegaonkar, Shishir Sharma, and Abhay Kulkarni standing out as a real highlight.
Such films are essential in today's world, as they can inspire positive change and reach a wide audience.
Overall, this is a film you need to see; it will stick with you!

Well made film with good intentions. Good acting, especially by the actors playing Kartik and the father. The film is a bit of a glimpse into the life of an urban gay couple and their relationship with small town parents. Good music and a feel good sort of film. It does get slightly preachy at times. The father suddenly turning a new leaf and a 180 degrees was a bit hard to digest but it was needed to wrap up the story positively. The movie will help non lgbtq folks understand the issues that the lgbt Indian community goes through. The film should be available on streaming platforms to reach a wider audience.
Kuch Sapney Apne not only includes very timely universal messages of the importance of love, family, acceptance, human rights and deals with themes of homophobia, stigma, discrimination, and misogyny in a way that is sadly relevant to too many countries and cultures around the world. Despite these very serious topics, the film manages to raise awareness and educate in a very entertaining non-preachy way and is packed with drama and plot twists and beautiful Indian songs. The acting by both veterans and first-time actors is first-rate and the scenery in Stockholm as well as in India is gorgeous. People who watched the earlier film "Evening Shadows" (about a young gay man from South India coming out to his parents) will recognize the characters and enjoy watching their growth during the past 5 years. However, if you somehow missed Evening Shadows, Kuch Sapney Apne and its plot are still easy to follow. I hope this movie is widely distributed, including in theaters internationally, as well as on streaming platforms.
I liked the rainbow flags on navratri Pooja stand. The acting is flawless and cinematography unique
Stories of couple fighting...father practicing dv. Brother a cross dresser...done with true authenticity...a colourful wedding...Sweden...food provide great backdrops.
Go live your life well..I am gay and my partner of 40 years is an angel... perhaps a gay angel. Being Gujarati I know how spirituality is part of lives..a subject well covered here.

In contrast to prequel Evening Shadows film was more positive and uplifting. Dramatic moments were quickly followed by jokes and comic situations.
If in Evening Shadows my favorite character was Father, in Kuch Sapney Apne it is definitely Uncle. This character is amazing mix of tragic and comic, buetifully played by an actor. This character made me laugh and cry and I think introduction of this character kicked of a real chain of events.
Beginning of film was a bit slow and boring. But on a second half people were laughing a lot - it speed up, became funny. Fling part didn't feel realistic - I think it could be shown better. But I think in general film was a success. I didn't count people but room during Premier felt as almost full. I've seen only a few empty places.
