I truly loved the film! It's both entertaining and thought-provoking, featuring a captivating storyline packed with surprising twists. The technical and artistic elements are exceptional, particularly Sagar Gupta's insightful and polished dialogues, Subhransu Das's stunning cinematography, and Ajay Kumar Balakrishnan's impressive sound mixing. The entire cast delivered remarkable performances, with Mona Ambegaonkar, Shishir Sharma, and Abhay Kulkarni standing out as a real highlight.
Such films are essential in today's world, as they can inspire positive change and reach a wide audience.

Well made film with good intentions. Good acting, especially by the actors playing Kartik and the father. The film is a bit of a glimpse into the life of an urban gay couple and their relationship with small town parents. Good music and a feel good sort of film. It does get slightly preachy at times. The father suddenly turning a new leaf and a 180 degrees was a bit hard to digest but it was needed to wrap up the story positively. The movie will help non lgbtq folks understand the issues that the lgbt Indian community goes through. The film should be available on streaming platforms to reach a wider audience.
The director has effectively explored multiple facets of human relationships. Each character is connected with one another beautifully. The film flows well and is engaging. It feels as if we are not watching fiction, but peoples lives unfolding in front of us. The film is going to be loved by audiences who enjoy watching good cinema, films which have substance. All of the actors have portrayed their characters to perfection. From the charismatically gleeful mother to the close minded and misogynistic father, each role is engaging and entertaining to watch on screen. An equally great film as Evening Shadows. One of Shishir Sharmas best performances!
Kuch Sapney Apne (2024) is a breath of fresh air in the Indian film industry. Although this is a a queer centric film with a queer centric cast and crew, the core message and meaning remains about love, connection and relationships. Despite being a sequel, this film stands alone as a touching story centered around the life of Aman. The actors compelling performances will keep audiences hooked into its intricately woven story, with various plot lines blurring into each other. LGBTQ+ representation is sorely needed now more than ever and this film should be the opening discussion for closed minded people.
Kuch Sapney Apne is really about dreams - personalized dreams! Dreams that people will understand, transform and accept other people who are different but not all that different either. Human beings live in a world of 'right' and 'wrong' and 'should' and 'should not be'. The judgement machine does not allow acceptance of what is different from the so-called 'norm'. The film is an entry point into the world of LGBTQIA+ for people not acquainted yet. Everything that the filmmakers want to say is there in the film . . . Made in the Indian popular entertainment genre with songs, foreign locations, drama, love and finally acceptance and importance of family. It is about who you could be rather than who you have become in a narrow-thinking rigid society, finding yourself however you are and having the courage to be with it and seeking acceptance!
