Movie Review: Navra majha navsacha 2 screening in cinema halls near you!!
A sequel to the 2005 film with the same name , this Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ashok Saraf film had raised high expectations . Here's my review....
A major difference in the film is that , it is a train journey as opposed to the bus journey in the original.
This time around Vacky's ( Sachin) son-in-law, Lamby(Swapnil Joshi ), supposedly an atheist is convinced by his fiancee Shraddha ( Hemal Ingale) to fulfil a " Nagda Navas " , toh suddha chaar chaughat.. ( xlation .. stand nude before bappa at the ganpatipule temple in full view of public 😁😁) .. Konitari bappana wachva re 😁😱 .... And how will Lamby pull of this seemingly impossible feat!!
They undertake a train journey this time to Ganpatipule and as usual it has quirky characters like Vaibhav Mangle , Siddharth Jadhav and Ashok Saraf as the TTE this time. There is also a twist in the tale which isn't hard to guess .
The first half is pure fun with great on screen chemistry between Swapnil Joshi, Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Grt stuff that raises ur expectations big time .
However the train journey which was supposed to be the main part of the film begins only in the second half. Ashok Saraf looks tired and his role isn't half as good as it was in the original. Many of the jokes are cliched and outright buffoonery which fail to invoke genuine laughter!! And there is a Chinese guy named " Randy Cha".. marathi main iska matlab jaan lo 😁... Eating fried cockroaches .. come on guys .. what do u want to do .. stir up a war with China !!
Some jokes are decent but pitifully less.
The ending shows an uncomfortable Swapnil Joshi stripping before bappa ... I don't want to body shame anyone .. but the guy looks grossly out of shape (wake up call buddy)😭!!
Some things that will appeal to the marathi audiences are a liberal dose of Ganesh aarati's scattered throughout the film & some tear-jerker moments which r a hallmark of Marathi cinema.
The film may still do well despite the flaws above .. but for me it did not live up to the hype created !! I expected more from Sachin !!
Going with 2.5/5 for this one .. Adios🙂!!

Its a sequel of first movie. But this movie is average if we compare to first movie and song are really boring. Lead actress was average and i feel Swapnil has to bring some change. He don't have to say all the dialogue as if he is performing in theatre. There should be some realism. Also if he is playing a lead role i feel he should have lost some weight if he knew he will be doing topless scene. Coz it was really not pleasant to see hero like this. Best acting done by sachin sir, supriya mam and ashok sir... love the train sequence it was fun. Even nirmiti ji and vaibhav sir was outstanding.. really love there performance. But u will easily guess who is the villain in the movie. Also ending when lamby start believe in god was also not that convincing enough... that situation could have been better.

Navra Maza Navsacha 2 (2024) :
Brief Review -
Sachin Pilgaonkar brings back the true Maharashtrian family entertainer from the gone days. Sachin Sir has formed many memorable moments of my childhood, and the last good-bye was Navra Maza Navsacha (if not Amhi Satpute). Not an original flick, but some amazing fun, and it has gained a cult following over the years among family audiences. He was lost a bit in the middle, but now he is back. Navra Maza Navsacha 2 has an extremely formulaic screenplay and story and falteres with arrangements of the characters very badly. If Vacky and Bhakti are carrying the same story of Navas forward from the 2004 film, then I don't understand how Ashok Saraf, Nirmiti Sawant, Mangle, Wadkar etc. Can be seen playing different roles. That's bullshiit! No excuses here. Now, coming to positive sides, it's not an out-and-out hilarious ride, but it's funny enough. Funny enough to keep you grinning for 2 hours. I don't remember when this happened to me last time. It's been years-almost a decade, I guess. NMN 2 runs on the formulaic plot of the predecessor only to force nostalgia on you. The cameo roles of Johny Lever and Sonu Nigam will tell you why, but still, it was a guilty "pleasure" watching them on screen. The songs aren't good either, but that's okay. I can't really expect a modern-day music album to be as good as NVM 2004, not this but any film. Those days are gone; let's accept it and move ahead with whatever mediocrity we have in our hands. Thanks to Sachin's wide vision of trying to sum up several Maharashtrian cultures and traditions together on a train journey, with Bappa in the center. Atheism is destroyed for good here. Ashok sir, Sachin sir, Nirmiti Tai, Supriya ma'am, you guys are insane. Evergreen. May Bappa keep you like this forever. Thank you for letting me know that the true Marathi family entertainer is still alive. All it needs is someone who can think like this, kicking intellectual cinema out of his brain. From Mumbai to Pune to Kokan or to Vidarbh, Marathwada, everyone will enjoy it.
RATING - 6/10*

Worst movie, do not expect anything from this movie based on the first part. Very bad and illogical story line, songs are pathetic. Repetitive dialogues, too much god god, lead heroine acting wasn't upto the mark. Could have been a very successful movie which such good cast. Disappointed.
Maybe I expected a lot based on the first part. It's proved once again that sequels are mostly disappointing. Hope good Marathi movies are made in future. It has been years since a good Marathi movie. Think only Nagraj Manjule can create the magic once more. Or maybe Sanjay Jadhav. With such movies Marathi movies don't have a future. I would suggest, don't waste your money guys.
I doubt other reviews.

Navra Majha Navsacha 2 falls flat despite a stellar cast, proving that big names can't save a weak storyline. Viewers expected a delightful sequel, but the film delivers a bland, clichéd plot that leans on outdated humor and predictable tropes.
The main storyline-focused on a reluctant religious ritual-is illogical and stretched, with attempts at humor that feel forced and childish. Jokes are repetitive, and many are outright cringeworthy, including a caricatured Chinese character eating cockroaches, which only borders on offensive rather than funny. Ashok Saraf, usually a reliable comic presence, appears visibly tired and underwhelming, his role a shadow of what it was in the original.
The film suffers from poor pacing, with the central train journey beginning only in the second half, leaving the first half as a slow buildup that does little to engage. Swapnil Joshi's performance is disappointing; his theatrical delivery feels overacted, and his physical appearance in a key scene is distracting, detracting from any intended humor or relatability. The lead actress also delivers an uninspired performance, adding nothing memorable to the film.
Religious themes are overemphasized to the point of feeling preachy, which may alienate audiences expecting lighthearted entertainment. Attempts to inject emotion and nostalgia with Ganesh Aarti and sentimental scenes feel more like filler than genuine moments, lacking the depth to make any impact.
In the end, Navra Majha Navsacha 2 is a textbook case of a disappointing sequel, overly reliant on the legacy of the original but offering little in return. For many viewers, it's a waste of time and money, with no real laughs or depth to justify its hype.

Their on-screen chemistry adds charm, making the film a must-watch for Marathi cinema lovers. The sequel explores relatable themes of marriage and love, with a balance of humor and emotion that keeps viewers engaged. The film's beautiful portrayal of Maharashtra, along with its impactful music, enhances the overall experience. The movie is definitely worth watching atleast once. A complete family movie giving cozy vibes and also definitely some nostalgia.
The movie is filled with comedy no doubt. The storyline is interesting but also straight and simple. Good characters and actors.
The first half has ample comedy and a wonderful story. Good songs and vibes and all. Even the pace is perfect. The only little con is the pace of the second half. Feels a bit slow and some forced unnecessary stuff and dialogues. But still the climax was interesting and the role of Siddharth Jadhav was wow. Swapnil Joshi and Sachin Pilgaonkar had the most screentime of all and was worth it.
Ultimately brilliant direction and writing is what makes a film good and Sachin left no crumbs.
So highly recommended to all and enjoy the film with your family.

The promotions got me hyped, but this movie still fails to deliver. Every department has missed the mark. The star cast is excellent, but the storyline and dialogues are bland and lack flavor. As viewers, we no longer watch movies just for the sake of big names; we need compelling screenplays and sharp dialogues. I'm not here to spread hate-I'm a passionate Marathi movie lover-but it's disappointing to see no real progress, even with such a stellar cast. We want the Marathi industry to dominate across India.
New, bright minds with different mindset are needed for projects like these, especially if remakes are involved. We can't keep relying on big names alone. I hope things improve in the future. Let's make it big.

Watched this on OTT and thanking Ganpati bappa that I didn't waste any money in theatres. How have they spoiled such a classic movie in part-2. No logic in the "navas", over-acting by all characters, lame mis-timed jokes.
Too much non required adult comedy, unnecessary characters, repetitive dialogues, useless songs, forced cameos and no emotional connect. Sorry to say but they have COMPLETELY RUINED THE LEGEND PART 1 WAS by making this kind of sequel. I wonder how they saw the final output & felt it was okay to release this nationwide. & how such terrific and established actors and team didn't realize what a mess they were making while shooting the scenes.
Sachin Pilgaonkar has created a let-down movie which should have been avoided to keep the part-1 as a classic in people's mind.

Had watched the original movie, which was fantastic. So watched this movie with high expectations. The original movie was pure entertainment and had enjoyed it a lot.
Needless to say, was quite excited to watch the sequel. However the overacting by Sachin, Supriya and Swapneel has killed the movie. Was shocked to see Nirmiti Savant's talent being wasted in this movie. I have seen some of her movies and she is a good actress.
Only saving grace was Ashok Saraf, the undisputed thespian. However, even he cant stop this movie from going down.
No wonder this movie got released on OTT. Not worth watching..

You can watch this movie with your family. Full of comedy and full of entertainment.
This is a best marathi comedy movie, I would suggest before watching this movie watch it's part first so you can link with this second part.
Those who are looking for comdey and entertainment go and watch this movie.
First part is really nice but second part is little slow but full of entertainment, you will not regret to watch this movie.
The new faces you can see, but some older faces should also includes that would be better.
Better to go with your family members or loved ones. Really good marathi movie if you are feeling boring at home.
