Continuity

When two men break into the house Lauren is staying in, Georgie (the dog) barks and bites at their ankles. One man shoots at Georgie who then runs away limping. Georgie is seen seriously limping along a road indicating his paw is injured (excellent performance by Georgie). Later when Loretta picks Georgie at the vet's office his paw is not bandaged, and then later Georgie jumps out of Loretta's car and runs unimpaired full speed back to the house.

Factual errors

Kroft and Loretta enter the bedroom and see the water trickling out under the door. Kroft is hit and flattened by the door when water pressure forces the door open. This is not possible because the "stop molding" on the door frame keeps the door from swinging out past the door frame. The wall and door would have to be seriously bowed outward which was not shown in this case.

Plot holes

When Lauren is in the boiler room there is a 3-inch iron pipe going across the room at about 7 or 8 feet above the floor. This would not be a water line as this size pipe would only be a water main in the street, but would normally be a house's sewer line. The pipe develops a slow leak at first which gradually increases until inexplicably, the pipe breaks. The pipe was not under pressure.
When the two criminals break in Lauren runs to what looks like a bedroom closet but instead is a boiler room. When the criminals try to pull the door open the handle breaks off, apparently locking Lauren in the room. The latch mechanism is clearly seen in the door when both sets of handles. However, neither Lauren nor the criminals ever think of using their finger to simply slide the latch to the side and open the door.
