"Young Sheldon" chronicles the life of Iain Armitage's eponymous child genius as he comes of age in Texas in the 1980s and early '90s. However, fans shouldn't go into the prequel series expecting every event to line up with what we learned about Sheldon's life on "The Big Bang Theory." For example, "Young Sheldon" introduces us to another child prodigy in the form of Paige Swanson (Mckenna Grace), who's Sheldon's intellectual rival and first crush. She's a memorable part of Sheldon's childhood, so why isn't she acknowledged on "Big Bang Theory?"
The answer is simple: bad timing. "Big Bang Theory" ended after season 12, robbing fans of the chance to find out what happened to Paige after the events of "Young Sheldon." While speaking to TVLine, franchise producer Steve Holland noted that she was only in nine episodes of "Young Sheldon," the majority of which aired after the parent series' final season.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage: Did Young Sheldon Cooper Appear in the Thanksgiving Episode? - Main Image
The Young Sheldon spinoff series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage recently aired its Thanksgiving episode, bringing back most of the Cooper family from the parent series.
Fans have been wondering whether young Sheldon would also appear in the series and reunite with his family. After all, he is a pivotal character in that world.

"The Big Bang Theory" ended after 12 seasons and 279 episodes, but it's a prize cow that co-creator Chuck Lorre and his team continue to milk. Thanks to televised repeats and the nerdy sitcom's popularity on streaming services around the world, viewers continue to hang out with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), Penny (Kaley Cuoco), and the rest of the gang. Furthermore, the success of the show's spinoff series "Young Sheldon" and (most likely) "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" are bound to keep the memory of their parent show alive for many years to come.
While "The Big Bang Theory" had some not so great episodes during its 12-season tenure, it also produced plenty of entertaining ones along the way. But which episode is the greatest of all time? If you trust IMDb's users as a barometer of a show's quality, then season 12's "The Stockholm Syndrome" is the crème de la crème.

When a sitcom runs for upwards of 10 seasons or more, showrunners and their writing staffs have to get creative to keep things fresh (as any faithful "Cheers" fan could tell you). Actually, that's not entirely true. Depending on the audience, sometimes an endless string of celebrity cameos is enough to keep folks tuning in long after the novelty of the original hook has worn off.
It's probably not fair to say that a show as beloved as "The Big Bang Theory" relied heavily on splashy cameos to remain buzzworthy, but the rate at which the sitcom deployed them felt a tad shameless. Some of the one-and-done guest appearances made sense for the geek-skewing show -- e.g. Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, and Leonard Nimoy were natural fits. On the other hand, "Big Bang Theory" guests like Jessica Walter, June Squibb, and Billy Bob Thornton seemed to come out of nowhere.

In movies, novels, television, comics, and just about everything aside from real life, death is not the end. Through a variety of dramatic devices, individuals can return -- for legitimate emotional/narrative reasons, be it to spackle over cracks in the plot or to generate some wholly unearned sentimentality. From Hamlet's dad popping up in Act I, Scene IV of Shakespeare's classic tragedy to trainer Mickey Goldmill appearing out of the Philadelphia heavens to exhort his pupil to fight one more round in "Rocky V," the dead are useful to the most skilled of storytellers. They're also helpful to paycheck-chasing actors cast as slashers in horror movies or boyfriends in soap operas.
One of the more recent inductees to the league of the fictional dead is George Cooper Sr., the father of Sheldon and Georgie Cooper in the "Big Bang Theory" prequel-spinoff series "Young Sheldon." He checked out in the series' emotional finale,...

For seven consecutive weeks, Max/HBO’s “The Penguin” has ruled the streaming chart, much in the way its titular character hopes to reign over the crime underworld of Gotham City. No one and nothing, ranging from diplomats to lawyers, from Halloween horrors to Martha Stewart, could unseat the show this week on Samba TV’s Weekly Wrap Report.
With one more episode to go, it’s highly likely “The Penguin” will make it a clean eight-week sweep atop the chart – and possibly extend its tenure beyond new episodes, as we saw with “House of the Dragon” over the summer.
Let’s look at the challengers who may hope to hold the crown once “The Penguin’s” season ends.
In second this week is “Don’t Move,” the Netflix horror film that likely got a Halloween-time bump in ratings. At No. 3 is another gangster story, albeit one a bit lighter in tone,...

“NCIS: Origins” and “Poppa’s House” just got a boost of confidence with full season orders at CBS. The “NCIS” prequel spinoff and the Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.-led sitcom, which both air Monday nights, have upped their first seasons from 13 to 18 episodes each.
The order stems from strong viewership for the premieres of both new shows. “NCIS: Origins” Episode 1 has been seen by 9 million viewers, while “Poppa’s House” has garnered 6.41 million viewers, according to VideoAmp and internal streaming data. Will Sheldon Appear in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage? Possibility Explored - Main Image
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage kicked off its premiere season with cameos from major characters from Young Sheldon, including Missy (Raegan Revord), Mary (Zoe Perry), and Meemaw (Annie Potts).
However, if there’s one character that fans of The Big Bang Theory spin-off are eager to see, it’s undoubtedly Sheldon (Iain Armitage).
Set shortly after the events of Young Sheldon, the sequel follows Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they navigate their lives as new parents and newlyweds.
The finale of Young Sheldon established that Sheldon would be moving to Pasadena and staying there until the end of The Big Bang Theory, which means he won’t be part of his brother and the latter’s life story.
Nevertheless, with 22 episodes planned and the return of familiar faces, the possibility of Sheldon making...

“Broadcast’s back, baby!” one network head recently crowed to Variety. And actually, they’re not wrong. After last year’s disastrous fall, when the Hollywood strikes led to a mostly improvised lineup, the networks are finally back in full force. And despite a messy launch disrupted by the election, extreme weather events and a media business in freefall, broadcast has reason to feel a little pep in its step.
Fall TV, of course, isn’t what it used to be when broadcast was the only game in town. But as the industry adjusts to a new normal in how viewers consume television, primetime series are showing true resilience. As the full data comes in, there’s been a surprising interest in the new crop of scripted fare on the traditional Big Four.

Good news Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage fans! We know that the Young Sheldon spin-off is good, and have. been enjoying the show even though it just started. After all, it's only the third episode airing tonight. Thankfully, CBS also sees and knows just how great the series is too.
CBS has officially given Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage a full season order. So what does this mean? Usually with broadcast television, new shows get around 10-13 episode first seasons. This is to test out the waters and see how well-received a series is going to be for the networks. However, there are times when these companies will order more episodes if the show is doing well enough.
Thankfully, the Georgie-centric comedy falls into the latter category! Initially, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage season 1 was going to be 13 episodes. Though now, CBS has ordered another nine installments to give the sitcom a total of 22 episodes.

There is one network taking a night off from new episodes. ABC has opted for a night of reruns, which isn’t surprising when you consider all Tgit shows had Halloween-themed episodes last week. That was a clear hint that Halloween night would be reruns.

Ghosts does a Halloween-themed episode every season. This year, the episode falls on actual Halloween, and it’s supposed to be a quiet night for Woodstone Manor. It won’t remain that way, though. The ghosts decide they like Patience’s idea of putting Sam on trial as a witch. Well, we’re sure to see things take a turn at some point,...

There’s a big win for the latest show in The Big Bang Theory franchise.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage just scored a full-season order from CBS, which means that the latest spinoff will be on our screens all the way through May.

It’s two-for-two with CBS’ new scripted series so far this fall. Just like the network renewed drama Matlock after two airings, CBS has now picked up additional episodes of comedy Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage at the same mark. The Young Sheldon spinoff has received a Back 9 order and will produce a full season of 22 episodes.
The news comes after strong ratings start for the multi-camera comedy. If you're a fan of "The Big Bang Theory," you probably can't imagine anyone besides Jim Parsons playing Sheldon Cooper, the irritatingly brilliant protagonist around whom the rest of the main characters — Leonard and Penny Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco), Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar), Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg), and Sheldon's eventual wife Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) — all orbit. Apparently, during the casting process, Chuck Lorre had some concerns about Parsons as a performer, according to his co-creator Bill Prady.
During a 2021 appearance on the "At Home with the Creative Coalition" podcast (per People Magazine), Prady remembered exactly why Lorre didn't want to cast Parsons. "We saw — oh God, I don't know, 100 people?" Prady said. "And when Jim Parsons came in, he was Sheldon on a level — you know, there were people who came in and you went, 'Okay, well, he's kind of okay,' 'Oh, he's pretty good,...

It’s a Tgit takeover as usual on ABC. What about other broadcast networks? There’s plenty to watch tonight, Thursday, Oct. 24.
ABC is opting for a Halloween week of Tgit. There are some Halloween-focused moments in 911 and Doctor Odyssey, which makes it clear that the network is taking a night off from new episodes next week, on actual Halloween.
Taking Halloween night off makes sense. It’s a night that people want to go out trick-or-treating with the kids rather than stay in and watch TV.
Doctor Odyssey, Ghosts, and more
Doctor Odyssey’s episode is literally titled “Halloween Week,” as we know the cruise ship has themed weeks. That was something Max had to quickly get used to! This week will get a little too scary for the people on the ship as there’s a plague that breaks out, turning people into zombies. There’s no where...
